New Battlegrounds Idea

What if there were something like incursions but in battlegrounds? So basically an alternate mode that is 2v2 that you can team up with either a random or with a friends and face 2 other players. So basically do the same alternating draft but add another person into the mix. So have person 1 from team A pick their 1st champion and person 1 from team B do the same thing. Then go to person 2 from team A pick their first 2 champions and the same from person 2 on team B. After the draft is over, have person 1 from team B pick their first defender and the same from person 1 from team A. Then have person 2 from both teams pick their defender too. After that have person 2 from team A pick who they want to attack and and choose an attacker and the same thing from person 2 on team B. Then have person 1 from team A choose an attacker for the remaining defender and the same thing from person 1 on team B. Then have the matches go on and then average the scores together to get 1 single score.

I'm sure someone somewhere would enjoy this, but this is probably highly impractical. Which is to say, the benefit of adding such a mode would not be enough to justify the huge amount of development work necessary to implement it.

Also, the reason why we have only a few game modes and not a hundred different ones is not just because Kabam can't brainstorm new ideas or they have limits to their resources. Even with infinite resources it is not good for a game like this to have too many different game modes. Having lots of different game modes each targeting only a tiny slice of the players who would ever want to play it spreads the players out very thinly. When only very few players are playing each game mode, every game mode becomes largely empty, which means even a game with hundreds of thousands of players can seem empty. Which is ultimately not good for the game.

You want enough variety to encourage more players to play the game, but you don't want more game modes than your playerbase can support. You want every game mode to attract at least some minimum number of players. And to be candid, I don't think your idea would attract enough players. A lot of players think Battlegrounds is not fast paced enough as it is. What you're describing is a game mode with all of the disadvantages of Incursions and none of the team work shoved into the Battlegrounds format. As I said, I'm sure someone would like it, just not enough someones.
