Hey guys! I'm new here so go easy on me lol. I have a 5 star Crossbones and a 5 star Tigra (neither duped). Who should I upgrade first?? I hear good for both. I don't have any good skill on my main team.

Both are good Tigra needs some skill to play and I mean that with all due respect she’s amazing in the right hands. Crossbones easier to play but lots of better skill options in my opinion. So pick who you like to use more is probably my best suggestion

what do you mean you dont have any skill? Either way i think i have your answer

if you don't have skill champions then Crossbones is the winner!

Also, if you don't have any skill I would go with crossbones, Tigra is great but requires a lot of work to get great WITH her.

Tigra is amazing, but she does take quite a bit of practice to get the most out of her. As you have to learn how to heavy counter as many heavy attacks and special attacks as possible. She also really benefits from having a high sig. Whereas crossbones has all his damage unduped and while getting the most out of him again takes practice he is a bit easier to start with. So I would upgrade crossbones first and practice with tigra.

Personally I would level tigra first, yeah, she takes skill, but the only way to get it is to use her. Crossbones only real benefit unawakened is that he doesn't crit, tigra still has the still relatively rare utility of neutralize, and, if you play aggressively, you get pretty much the full benefit of her awakened ability after 2 sp1s.

Do you have any other neutralize champs? If not, I'd go with Tigra. She requires skill and practice to master, but she's still great if you play her "ok" because of neutralize. The high skill cap really comes in if you want her to be the ultimate nuke.

Additionally, I like to think that champions that require higher skill work better ranked for the "average joe" because you have a higher margin for error.

I don't like unawakened Tigra, and I say that as someone who has her as my highest ranked champion. She's just so slow and needs two SP1s before getting going. When she's awakened and at relatively high sig, you can go straight to SP2. But she is a very valuable champion, for sure. There are a few more champions who can neutralize their opponents (that is, prevent them from activating buffs), but Tigra is the OG queen of it.

I don't have Crossbones myself but his main draw for me is his defensive ability accuracy reduction. It's an ability that is incredibly useful. Since I don't have him, I'm not sure how easy it is to keep enough fury buffs to completely shut off your opponent's defensive abilities, but it shouldn't be that hard against #Hero champions at least.

I personally love Black Cat because she can reduce her opponent's defensive abilities in much the same way that Crossbones can. It's a lovely ability to have, so despite my absolute adoration of Tigra, I would probably rank up Crossbones for the moment.

I've played for years off and on but never really paid too much attention to how to properly use champions, I just tried to max out who I thought was good at the time and learned from there. Here's my lineup

I disagree for the fact you said “only real benefit unawakened is that he doesn’t crit”. Crossbones can shut abilities down with 4-5 furies (depending on the matchup). The furies also means big damage. So crossbones has a lot going for him even unawakened

    Welcome to the forums!

As a semi-new player myself, I've found it really helpful to tap into YouTube guides about how to most efficiently play certain champs.

The most important advice I received early on was to focus on leveling champs you enjoy playing. So if you give a little time to either, pick the one you like more!
You still owe us your list of faves, Jax!

Seeing your roster, instead of going Tigra and XBones, I would go Juggs and Kingpin. Both extremely easy to play, very tanky, loads of utility and damage. Kingpin arguably best skill champ in the game and Juggs is just a monster post buff and he doesn't need any brain and skill to play unlike Tigra, juat smash the opponent, get to 10 Unstoppables, SP2, and repeat. Maybe use some heavies for Stagger 😉
