Name is taken but no one has the name

I keep trying to get a name and it said it was taken and when I check to see if it was it says no one has this name and it’s confusing me

It may not be the best option to get the name of a previously banned player, or for that matter the name of any previous player. After all, you don't know what they were doing under that name or what other players might think about that name.
