For a number of players, BGs is covered up with connection issues and bugs. If the forums are any evidence, there doesn’t seem to be much concern on the team’s side.
This most recent match started badly: I couldn’t tell if I matched because the timer expired for an Elder’s Marks match after I accepted. The screen froze with the spinning disc at bottom, but no sign of an opponent after the timer ran out. After about 15 seconds of freeze with a zero count on the timer, I assumed no match and swiped up to close the app before I reopened.
The app reopened with 6 seconds remaining in the ban stage of the BG match—apparently, I did match and the match already started while my screen was frozen and I restarted. Quickly, I banned the first three champs I could find.
Next, the draft. Fine until my opponent’s final two draft picks before my last pick—again, the spinning disc at the bottom and a frozen screen (screenshot above). Never saw who he picked, and never got to choose my last champ—game picked for me, which I discovered when the game abruptly moved from frozen screen to the first fight.
This mode is currently overrun with so many problems. It is incredibly fun—when it works. Since last update, that’s not often. MCoC community deserves much better.
