I wouldn’t. Because Tony Hawk is primarily a Vert Skater. He’s a champion on big half pipes. What if I wanted to be a freestyle Skater? I’d go to Rodney Mullen who also is the first person to do the flat ground Ollie, the most fundamental trick of street skating. What if I wanted to be a street Skater? I’d go with Chris Cole.

Each of those focus on ONE aspect of skateboarding. If I wanted to be an all rounder, I’d have to learn from all of them and see the strengths and weaknesses that they bring to the table in ALL areas.

Listening to Vega talk about Mantis in ONE area doesn’t make Vega the best at using Mantis in EVERY situation, and doesn’t mean that Mantis is also bad in every game mode either.

Like most have said "learn to intercept" I did just that. practice, practice, practice. I'm not perfect but i'd say 80-85% success rate ain't bad.

15-20% equates to you getting comboed into oblivion and that’s all it takes to lose a BG match or using a revive or losing a war fight or losing a war or getting kicked out of an ally for doing so… 1 combo is all it takes.

No offense but honestly don't care. I know who I am, I know what I showed in the Mantis tutorial I posted and I know who karate Mike is (who agreed she doesn't "need" a buff). Not to mention I think pretty much everyone in this thread has disagrees with you, but you just hold tight to one specific opinion.

It is not uncommon at all for a YTer to rush to a conclusion on a champ prematurely. You remember when YTers were saying that Proxima was better than Corvus. What about all the Hayes from YTers on Overseer on his release. I could go on and on, but we all know YTers often makes rushed decisions on champs at times.

Or that this is a fairly new video on a champ getting very little hype and is still very new champs that not many people have yet. Almost all my champ tutorial vids (especially on very new champs) start out with low and slow view count and gradually build up.

Guarantee your wrong, I've made over 50 champ tutorials, I've very familiar with the trends. Once she gets released.to basic pool, within a month or so views start stacking up as people start pulling her.

Additionally, a buff would actually make this video obsolete as it would no longer accurately display her. Anytime a champ that I did a tutorial on gets a buff, I do a new tutorial on them (I actually had 3 on Hood, one prebuff, one after his first buff, and then one after his buff was redone).

Also my views are low that despite over 6k subs I got in a year of making vids, I took almost a year and a half off and just started making vids again a couple months ago. Takes time for people to start checking my channel after such a long break.

Instead of repeatedly referring to the YouTube video, why not actually state why you yourself believe Mantis needs to be buffed? One fight is far from proof that a champ needs to be buffed, especially if it’s a less than ideal fight. Also, just keep in mind that despite his view in that video, he states in the comments section that he plans to take her to R4, so do with that what you will.

This is the Quicksilver thread all over again. OP, just because you don't know how to use a champion effectively, or requires skill to play doesn't mean that champion should get buffed or made easier to play.

You've been telling one to watch Vega's video, but have you watched it yourself? It showcases a single fight, in only one game mode, against an enemy that isn't really an ideal matchup. This is not representative of a champion's capabilities.

You should read the comments under the video too. The first thing people did was callout Vega for using Mantis against Doom, a defender who has high crit resistance, when Mantis relies on critical hits to deal most of her damage. The other thing is that for every video of people saying Mantis is not good in BGs, I could find 5 of her nuking down enemies in BGs without an issue. Not only that, just because a champion isn't good for BGs means they are automatically bad and need a buff. Stryfe is a fantastic champion but because he ramps up his damage by questing, he's not very effective in BGs. Zemo is great in long form content but he suffers a lot on BGs offense due to how long he takes to get into his damage loop.

You should also learn how to defend your point of view with actual arguments instead of repeating "jUsT wAtCh VeGa'S vIdEo" all over again. You haven't presented a real argument that supports your claim, on top of calling people ignorant for not watching the video when you can't be bothered to do the same.

Finally, intercepting is not difficult. It's a basic skill that every player should learn given the amount of nodes that require intercepting to get around them. Not every champion can be oonga boonga 5-hit combo sp2 and repeat. So uh... git gud?

The title and following comment is one of the worst buff threads ever been in forums, then you backing it up with someone's else's "Opinion".

This post doens't have what a buff post requires.

What are her strengths
What are her weakness
Is she lacking utility
Is she lacking damage
Is she slow in her rotation.
How she is performing in different matchups
What content is she designed for.
How can kabam buff her
What aspect she needs the buff in.

Kabam dev team won't cater to our individual needs.

Mantis is a pretty unique character and I like those type of champions, but she needs some improvements. I’m not sure about her utility tbh, 2 main utility: manipulating defender AI behavior and tranquilize (AAR to debuffs).

The infuriate and intimidate debuffs are too tied to her damage, that’s the best and practical way to gain emotions and honestly without those debuffs she’s useless. So first of all those debuffs should have been passives. Also, if AI doesn’t cooperate to those debuffs which trust me happens, her ramp up is slow. (Her damage prior to that sp2 is nothing to brag about). Not only that, shrug off or tenacity also easily makes her quite useless. This wouldn’t have been an issue if there was more to her than building or ramping up those mix emotions for damage.

Her Tranquilize ability, doesn’t seem practical…there’s a problem with it’s execution. It’s a new ability which I’m for stuff like that, but they need to do more testing on it and implement it well. The problem is either the duration, potency or how it works (by pretty much doing nothing…standing still, which you don’t have full control over unless with AI cooperation from intimidate debuff). But this makes an ability which should be straightforward complicated. Even against Science champions, debuffs leak through a lot. If anything the tranquilize mechanic via sp3 should be added to her sp1 ability. Not only will it give her a better control of debuffs but will also add to her defensive capabilities.

Lastly, her passives furies after the sp2 should linger around for a little bit. She goes boom 💥 on sp2 and damage quickly becomes underwhelming. But the end of the special, it’s almost expiring and if opponent uses a special it’s gone even before the special ends. She’ll be a balanced, practical and a better champ overall with some small changes.

Doubt you have, especially considering you don't understand how she works at all.
You're complaining about her damage because of a big brain play from Vega where he used her against Doom, that's like using Shang Chi against Nova and asking for a buff because his sp2 barely tickles.
Honestly I don't even know why Vega uploaded that clip and asked for a buff, it's kinda embarrassing cause why on Earth would you even use a champ that relies on crits for insane damage against Doom lol.
