Is Kabam Pivoting Towards Titles?

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who has noticed this, but there seems to be a huge amount of titles coming our way this month, especially when compared to previous events. I originally thought the Incursions titles were a one off, but after seeing the Mutant solo event, I realized that that wasn’t the case. I get it, this could all just be a one off for the summer, and hopefully it is, because only having titles isn’t great for progression, to say the least, and some real rewards would be much appreciated. Don’t get me wrong, it’s great that Kabam is giving players more titles to show off, but if this is the new norm, the player base may eventually start to lose interest in the game. Any thoughts or information would be appreciated!

To me it feels like they fill in titles in place of useful rewards😵

I don't see what the problem is. If they only removed the titles from the rewards, you wouldn't complain. The rewards are mainly bought from the Event shop and by playing through Incursions.

So you have a 2 week event that has some titles in it and you're freaking out thinking they're replacing rewards with titles? Where were you during the Mojo event that that PFPs everywhere? There's been like 3 events in the past year where it was PFPs to collect. No one was freaking out then. So why now?

Because the whole mutant solo event is literally just titles. Titles and pfps, that's basically it, along with some trash rewards. Even in the Mojo's Choice, the rewards were better. And we've had two title based events in a row now. This is probably a good reason to worry

There really isn't. The stuff you get per month hasn't changed nor been replaced. This is just extra bonuses.

Speaking of which, hiding the greatest shards selector total at the very end of the screen cost me a few shards before I figured it out haha.

This doesn't change the fact that Kabam is semingly making a pivot to bringing titles into the mainstream. I feel like the rewards have been nerfed, even if its only a little bit. This seasonhas way more titles and pfps than the last year's event, with much less rewards. Can't tell if this is a change for the better or worse

You literally just admitted that the rewards are the same as always, except there are more titles. But you feel like there are slightly less than usual rewards and too many pfps? Please tell me where all the pfps are and how you "feel" it's worse rewards.

The rewards are normal and as said, the titles are just a bonus.

This seems silly. Rewards in the game as a whole are ridiculously available now, and much more than they used to be. An increasy in a few titles does not equate to less rewards. If you had data, that might make this an ounce more concerning. But even if so, it's also a game. I dont only play for the rewards.

Not for me. Or rather, more rewards wouldn't increase my motivation to play the game. Rewards by themselves are meaningless to me. Those rewards are only meaningful if they are a proxy for achievement. I like getting rewards that are hard to get. If the game was flooded with rewards, my motivation to play would probably decrease.

If there are too little rewards, they are probably also so hard to get that the motivation to play when you can't make any forward progress disappears. If there are too much rewards they are probably also too easy to get and the rewards become pointless. I would rather have a moderate amount of rewards that are moderately hard to get than a ton of rewards that are easy to get, or one reward that is almost impossible to get.

Accomplishment is my motivation to play the game. The rewards are just how I keep score.
