Battlegrounds - finish fight, restarted fight

Fighting in Bronze II, fight #2, I was using Guardian vs. Domino. I finished the fight with 40ish seconds to spare and 75ish health. When I completed it it put me on the finished BG fight sequence but with my current ranking (1 medalion). I exited BGs, and went back in to fight and it put me back into the Guardian vs. Domino fight, at full health, with only 15ish seconds left. I lost, of course, and then lost the 1 medallion I had.
