First post ever going to keep it respectful. I understand that ppl wer farming like crazy in act 3.2.6 i understand it cuts into revenue i geuss but 1 level 1 potion and 1 level 2 potion for easy difficulty and one level 1 revive is a bit rediculous. first no matter how much you want ppl to spend units to clear content that will not happen. ppl will just stop playing eop or abyss or w.e. before that happens. this is because of your unit and cash deals for july 4th 18k units (i have a feeling u guys will push to 30k this summer). 18k spring cleaning, 30k cyberweekend and then whatever u want in banquet. this fully incentiveses ppl to not want to spend there units on anything else. your rebuttle to this will be they dont have to and thats totally fine but then ppl response to that will be not to spend and not to do the content u created which means in the end you guys wasted ur time. Secondly ive done the math for ur revive farming lets say for average player it takes eop about 10 revives per fight and 1-2 revives per fight you do with hercules if you mess up. so 6 revives for hercules fights and 40-50 revives on everything else thats about 56 revives. the way you have built this revive farming system is u get 1 revive from 22 hr events and 1 honestly from the new event revives have 15 day limits and u can't farm revives on saturday and sunday so in 15 days u can get 10 revies plus 14 from 22 hr before one expires plust the 15 in your stash. that gives you 39 revives meaning 11 revives are comng out of your pocket from this content. This should tell u the content is to difficult to complete if ppl have to go out of there way to farm up to 80 revives but nothing is going has been done about that ur initial suggestion was to nerf the revives u didn't see a problem with your content u saw a problem with the way the community descided to take up the content. Ontop of this you had said that EOP WILL BE REOCCURRING CONTENT (sorry for cap locks i just wanted other pple in the forums to see that part) meaning we should be soon be seeing the summers version of eop so you will expect players to have revives set for that along with this. unless your mind has changed on eop being reoccuring. Please keep replies respectful i hope to be more active in forums now and hope we can have respectful dialouge no matter what the issue is or how much we may disagree or agree.
How many energy refills did people have to use to obtain/ “abuse” this method I wonder- it’s almost as if energy refills are a part of this game as well and that simply exchanging one resource for the other is absolutely a part of this game and it’s both fair and legal???
It’s unbelievable that kabam continues to make decisions that widen the gap between “free to play” and “pay to win” accounts. The whole argument of new end game content becoming devalued because you can farm revives is horrendously obtuse. Free to play players rely on this system of farming to even attempt content. I understand the argument kabam wants to relay to us, that the “loophole” of auto farming makes difficult content easier due to spamming revives at the fight… BUT GUESS WHAT… that happens regardless.. they are simply upset that we aren’t PAYING for them. That’s where my problem stems from.
I understand that if kabam doesn’t make money, the game dies with them. I spend money on OFFERS, but units for the use of content. This is just another attempt of them continuing to dissolve any advantage that players have. They spoke about the same issues regarding BG when players were upset about the token costs and how kabam spoke about how players can BUY tokens in the store. If our unit usage continues to grow on these baseless items that have been easily obtained in the past, only to be “nerfed” due to “loopholes” and “exploits”, or “unfairness” to the content.
Removing the ability to CONSISTENTLY farm these revives from say dozens a day to only 2 GUARANTEED per day( 1 from objectives, 1 from quest) then WE ARE SCREWED. If this is implemented, I would be confident to bet that the MCOC community will depreciate even more than it already has in the past year.
Side note- I just ran path 5 of AOL a few weeks back and it took me 150 revives that I farmed from 3.2.6 AS WELL AS 700 units. How can we be expected to do “end game content” when it takes MONTHS to farm enough revives.
I offer no solution to this “revive problem” because this isn’t a problem at all. The problem is kabams overly controlling nature of their behaviour to push down free to play players and limit their abilities to do content. If they want more money they can simply craft better offers that attract more spending.
I have a better suggestion for the "spamming revives" issue.
How about adding a cooldown of like, 30 minutes before you're able to use a revive again?
That way people won't just spam them. They are either forced to play their very best so that they can get the max use out of their try, or either have to patiently wait 30 minutes to try again.
You can also add an option to watch like 5x ads to skip the cooldown. And another option to skip it via some additional units as well, why not.
That’s not the real issue. They don’t care that you’re using a lot of revives. They care that you’re not spending 40 units a piece for them
From what I understand, they care about the level of challenge that the content they release provides. When you have Players sitting on stockpiles of Revs from farming and they're pushing through it the day it's released, that puts a strain on design. At least that's what I'm interpretating.
Revive spamming only really works as well as it does bc they let Herc loose busted as all hell. A 20% revive with no pots doesn't get you very far most of the time unless you just so happen to have a champ that goes immortal and unblockable for a minute or two at a time. Probably should have looked at that first...
I mean, it's an interesting theory, but I doubt it is completely related to Herc. There are other, less dramatic ways to resolve that.
I revive farmed for carinas. I used the 20% on the first 4 right side fights then 40% and team for the next 4. Some are mass spamming though 150+.
He isn't the first Champ that resists dying though.
Nope, but he's the most efficient to do so with BY FAR, as not only does he resist dying, he also has massive DPS and goes unblockable. The closest to Herc cheesing we've had in the past was Corvus timeouts and that was limited to AQ basically. Herc has single handedly allowed players that are flat out terrible at the game to mindlessly finish basically any content for free that wasn't champ gated or item capped. Believe whatever it is you like but the root of this issue is absolutely Herc regardless of how they spin it.
I'm gonna get tar and feathered for this, but it needs to be said. First off, I agree with almost everyone in here. This approach is wrong. Kabam need to change their minds. I'm working on a post with another solution. But if y'all think hard content is where Kabam makes their money, guess again. Please take a moment and think about it. The individual EOP challenges were not that taxing, so I'm only talking about the quest style content with this (gauntlet, EOP, Abyss, etc). How often does content like this release? Aren't people always complaining about how there's no content? Even if people spent 6k units to blitz through EOP carina's on release, that amount of spending would be dwarfed by the amounts spent for Cyber Monday, July 4, Banquet, etc. This isn't a cash grab. It's about the fact that developing content takes time, and if it gets blitzed by half the player base in a week, then nobody has content to work towards for a while.
I've been playing for 4 years. Never once had to log into the forums to comment something but this is so trash.
I am so busy most days I can't use my energy, so I usually farm revives so when I do have free time I can save them up to play on the weekend and get through content without the stress of worrying I'll run out.
This is a terrible decision, and the replacement is trash.
Honestly, I've been considering quitting since relics, but this really does hit a part of the game that keeps me willing to play and take on challanges.
So let me get this straight. Us players spend hours in game farming items (revives/potions) to spend MORE legit time in game to complete content and somehow we’re the bad guys and this needs to be nerfed or you will stop giving us end game content or will be forced to nerf rewards?
Arena has been broken for years, filled with bots, modders and cheater. Bgs is filled with bugs, modders and cheaters! Teams being docked in aw for cheating yet your main focus is to punish legit players from gathering items to complete content? Instead of using their wallets? Lol
Its impressive how they have multiple options to solve an "issue", and yet they choose the worst one of them. Even more impressive that this isn't by far the first time this happens.
I have a better suggestion for the "spamming revives" issue.

Of course not. They should have nerfed Herc ages ago, but that would take some backbone. They'd rather just kick the can down the road just like they did with Quake and Ghost.
This is such a stupid decision. Nobody is going to play this game without revive farming, and by the time Kabam accepts that and reverses this, everyone's alliances will have been hollowed out by so many players leaving.
Why do they hate their legitimate players so much??
I can't understand it. Yes, I farm revives for content. But that's part of me playing the game. I'll do a run here and there and when I feel I'll have time to tackle some big content I'll put more effort into it and prepare.
I've only done one run of EOP. But I'm still around for AQ and AW, for BGs and side quests every single day, for years.
What Im trying to say is I'm an average leveled loyal player who's (well, as of this moment USED TO BE) passionate about mcoc. I'm not a money printing machine and I feel like that announcement only sees me that way.
I feel especially hard done by when everywhere I turn right I see ppl cheating. They can do that and walk around with their Legends titles and keep their rank up materials and champs.
But god forbid I should farm some revives to get thru some content, in particular to make up for all the weird AI and input failures (or is it animation bugs now is it?!).
Well, if they don't want me playing their game then I guess I can only respect their decision.
I find the timing extremely suspicious. After all the rumor of 8.2 release is next month and from what I’ve heard on some of the nodes ya brought in a lot of bs ones in beta. Perfect timing. Nerf revive farming 2 weeks before 8.2 content. And alternate methods? Lmfao tell me how even 1 or 5% is even remotely close.
I have a better suggestion for the "spamming revives" issue.

Even though ghost isn’t the biggest problem never was it was the tech power bots there make he so demand
Well, here’s a repost since the other one got deleted in a record 2 minutes due to some harmful buzzwords
Time to turn the spotlight to the biggest factor contributing to “content trivialisation” and that’s new accounts accruing hard and endgame content rewards through unscrupulous means
These accounts get to keep ALL of the rewards that they got through egregious means even after a small ban. This is CONTENT TRIVIALISATION. So it’s insane to think the player base that farms revives are the ones “trivialising content”
And since the game team said they’re open to suggestions on how to adjust their punishments for such players, here’s some :
1. Remove ALL rewards from their accounts that’s deemed “exclusive enough from hard content” E.g Abyss, EoP, anything Carina’s related, Act7-8 and future Acts 2. Reset their content progression after their punishment ends
It’s obvious your systems detect who bypasses such content way too easily so these are added policies to make sure the content our dear game team has worked so hard crafting isn’t tarnished in unintended ways
End of the day, players still get the chance to “repent” and run through content like it was meant to
Ah so my post got merged to this one. Not meant to derail this thread or anything but the points I have brought up in my comment here is something I hope the game team gives some serious thought to
Because anyone who reads deeper into this issue will know exactly what I’m driving at and it’s not a nice future to be looking ahead into…

Yeah I've hated power boosts ever since Ghost and Corvus showed up. Just another example of how they rarely address the actual problems when it comes to game balance

Based on the feedback in this thread, we have started internal discussions around adjusting revive/potion inventory caps. This is not a guaranteed change, but is what is most prominently being discussed.
These conversations will continue to take place behind the scenes and could grow to include other potential adjustments as well.
We will use this thread to provide updates if/when we have news to share.
I really enjoy this game, I’ve been playing for over 7 years straight and in total easily spent over 8k on this game over the years between cyber Monday and July 4th offers and I must say this will be worst that 12.0 , Kabam should be asking themselves why are people farming revives to beat content and how can we make the content challenging but let taxing on players between input issues and the improvements on A.I speed and reaction time and let’s not forget champion acquisitions yes it has gotten better over the years but still not where it should be, if you’re going to be changing revive farming then consider taking a look at overall content because I stay online and watch the best players in Mcoc farm revive for content so if they’re farming tons revive when u take that away what does the average player do hmmm oh let me guess there will be more deals for revive $$$$$ , I really hope Kabam reconsider or at lease communicate with players and find a middle ground .
