Thank you for your feedback, we are reading every comment. Please keep your messages constructive; most of you have so far, thank you for that.
Based on the feedback in this thread, we have started internal discussions around adjusting revive/potion inventory caps. This is not a guaranteed change, but is what is most prominently being discussed.
These conversations will continue to take place behind the scenes and could grow to include other potential adjustments as well.
We will use this thread to provide updates if/when we have news to share.
Its hard to be constructive under this outrageous changes, lack of player/customer consideration. Suggesting a revive per day and a level 1 potion when we have champs with 50k health is just unqualified.
The ones that need to be constructive is your company and not the player base.
I fairly think this is one of the best decissions they could make, content is done too easily by people that are not even skilled enough to do it just spamming revives, so this encourages people to try to learn how to really play the game properly, not only this but makes the challenging things challenging, when people is able to do this content the first day it goes out just spamming 60 revives that means that something must be done, If anyone thinks that 2 revives PER DAY is not enough, that only shows how bad people became. Getting revives became way easier than before, so I think is fair to nerf the amount we can get by farming them.
The main problem I see here, is that they done this in the worst moment possible, since people need more revives because everything in the game is bugged, so they should have waited a little bit more to make this changes until they fixed at least half of the bugs they have currently in game.
And to be fair with Kabam, this is not a charity, this is a company, we already get almost everything free, I dont think its that bad to have to play more Arenas to get more revives for the hard content, or spending to get them.
I think its just a bad timing, but a really good decission, I expect a lot of disagrees but sorry fams, I dont think this is about opinions, since I repeat, you dont need more than 2 revives a day, or you shouldnt need them, If you need them then that means you are not playing properly, so you should try to change it, you dont wanna try to improve your skills? Then I think it is fair to pay for the revives then, and I say this being a F2P player.
Farming disagrees? How will that help your progression?
You should progress playing better, making your roster bigger, and getting resources playing if you dont want to spend money, but being able to farm the amount of revives you want because the challenges are too challenging for you is just nonsense.
If im not able to do X content, I shouldnt just spam revives, I should see why and fix it, If its because im not good enough, I improve my skills, if its because I dont have certain champions, I try to farm shards to look for them or grind arena to get those.
And as I said, I dont think they should make this change NOW, since the game is completely bugged, but it is not a bad change itself.
Hey buddy, maybe stop talking nonsense about getting better when content like Carina with 4* Starlord exists? Hows that “get better” works out for you in that content?
Yeah people only spends revives on Carina's Challenges, and spend only the necessary ones right?
Dude, people farm hundreds of revives just to dont care about playing worse, the thing on Carina's Challenge is to do it with the less amount of revives trying to play the best possible.
And still, I dont know how the hell people are this annoyed when Kabam still gives you AT LEAST, 2 revives a day, fam, most of the games give much less resources of this kind and try to make you pay most of the times for them.
I think Kabam made people to get used to easy things, and now that they say "Hey, we were too generous, so we are going to stop" people gets mad, feels like kids when they dont get the PS5 for Xmas and they get clothes instead.
We are still getting revives for free, if you need more than 2 per day to clear Carina's Challenges, then you shouldnt be trying Carina's Challenges just yet, as easy as that.
Who told you this? Players suddenly don’t care about playing better because they can revive farm is such a weird take. It seems like you’re just making stuff up to try and prove some invalid point.
Just because you can farm revives doesn’t mean that everyone suddenly starts playing sloppily and relying on them completely. I’ve seen most players resort to this for endgame stuff that can’t be done itemless unless you’re some sort of Mcoc master (and even if you are, the 4* Carina challenges are still impossible to do without a lot of revives).
What a disgusting money grab. Shame on you, you vultures.
They could just ban items altogether from top tier content. Not only would this eliminate the farming problem, but it would literally dunk on the players claiming that this was a "cash grab."
That's what I would do. Kabam is just reducing farming rather than eliminating it and is continuing to allow players to use items in top tier content because they have more mercy than I do.
As to "keeping the pay to win option" yeah, they still allow people to actually buy things and use things. Because if they don't, the game will die. That's true everywhere. We have random crystals that the whales can just buy hundreds of to guarantee getting what they want. We have inventory limits that the whales can bypass by simply buying unlimited amounts of what they need. We have reward tiers that the whales can just buy their way to the top of. We have constraints on how much rewards flow into the game that the spenders can work around.
Spenders can do more than non-spenders can do, because that's how we encourage them to spend. To say that a game design decision is not valid because spending allows those decisions to be mitigated is simply not understanding how games like this work. *Every* decision can have its validity questioned like this. But game designers still have to design games with design rules nonetheless. They still have to balance their game economies nonetheless. They still have to implement controls and limits nonetheless.
After almost 9 years of this game, people understand that spending is what keeps this game alive. That’s why people are angrier than expected because they are painting it as “we just want to limit farming cause of the content” but still not limiting how many revives we can buy with units. Why not make similar limitations with units as well? 10 revives per week with units? Imagine if we all were complaining that we need a 6* quake, and their reply is “we are working on other champs right now, but we will get on that soon”. It would be complete B.S. it’s true they are occupied with other champs design but that’s not the real reason we don’t have a 6* quake. That’s what the post feels like.

Also commenting on my original post… isn’t it a coincidence that when it’s a “loophole”, “exploit” ETC for the player… IT MUST BE INSTANTLY TAKEN DOWN AND PATCHED… but when it’s bugs that are causing the game strife and hurting the player base.. kabam responses with, “that’s just the game” “it’s the players fault”.
Lmao I stated this on another post and I got completely told off
Because that discourages revive spamming… from whales who are buying them. Despite the claims, they dont want content where you can’t infinitely use revives, they just want to make sure that spending is the only means to do so
Limit the number of revives. THATS how you stop revive spamming. Then tune the difficulty of said content so that its not impossible to beat within those confines

That’s such a dumb take. Everest content is literally impossible to do reviveless for most people. Carina challenges force you to use champs in non ideal matchups and most good players spent around 40 revives per path if they don’t have Hercules. The game issues also completely invalidate any skill that a player has, so unless you think every player is MSD, this isn’t happening.
But yeah, just say “gEt GoOd” as if that’s the problem here. Revive farming helps f2p players do the content without spending what units they’ve saved up. This isn’t a matter of skill, it’s a matter of having a Hercules and revive spamming through the rest of the content, even if you’re that good.
Yes, it is a bad change. Players need these revives for content like this and it was a good avenue for f2p players.
Yep, you are right, and the game shouldnt be "Use Hercules and spam revives", thats why the change is good.
And again, if you do Everest content should be because you are in the group of top players of the game, the fact that people with not big enough roster or not enough skills tries to do it spamming revives doesnt mean that that Everest Content is meant for them, same with Carina's Challenges.
And I repeat once again, since no one likes to read this part, the CHANGE ITSELF is GOOD, the MOMENT THEY WANT TO APPLY IT is BAD, since the game is completely bugged and people use more revives to overcome those bugs than anything else.
No, it isn’t a good change. If they want to nerf Herc, there’s better ways to go about it than this mess.
Roster and skills? Aha seriously? You can have the most developed roster and skill set but that’s still not allowing you to do most of this content without a ton of revives. Stop with the “git gud” angle because it’s not valid here. If you think Everest content can just be conquered with some skills and a good roster, you’re obviously not doing Everest content. This is especially true for Carina volume 1 and 3
I fairly think this is one of the best decissions they could make, content is done too easily by people that are not even skilled enough to do it just spamming revives, so this encourages people to try to learn how to really play the game properly, not only this but makes the challenging things challenging, when people is able to do this content the first day it goes out just spamming 60 revives that means that something must be done, If anyone thinks that 2 revives PER DAY is not enough, that only shows how bad people became. From your comments I can tell you haven’t done carina or any hard content. And definitely not recently. So tell us oh wise one. How is 2 revives. And mind you it’s not a guarantee a day. It’s again rng. Which they say they trying to get away from gonna do the hard content?
I know perfectly how hard that content is, farming for a quest and a mission 2 single revives that will take you a little amount of time everyday for 14 days to do a good run for EoP I think its pretty fair from Kabam, not mentioning the RNG revives you could get on the quests and on daily crystals, so you could use at least 15 revives + 28 stash revives, you dont think 43 revives are enough for a player that is doing the content meant for him? Then that means that you are not talking about the people that the content is meant for, you are talking about everyone like everyone should be able to do EoP or Carinas Challenges or Gauntlet, etc, that content is CHALLENGING content for the BEST PLAYERS.
Not gonna change my mind, the only problem with this is that the game is completely bugged so they should wait till they fix the game to apply this changes.

So what part of 1% and 5% didn’t you read? Considering that’s the DROP RATE FOR THOSE REVIVES
Ok before everyone disagrees let me put out some context. Of course we would all like things to stay as they are but that probably won’t happen but I think I came up with a decent solution.
What if there was a hard cap on the amount of revives we could have at once?
No unlimited revive farming into overflow, just a hard cap. I think a fair limit for this cap would be 50 of the t1 revives. That way most people could still do the content without the need for tons of arena or spending and we don’t run into the issue of people trivializing content by saving hundreds of revives.
Of course you could bypass this cap by spending units on t2 revives which won’t have the cap so if you really need to you can grind arena for those extra revives.
Again, this is just a proposed solution which I think is a decent compromise so if you guys want to add your voice as well feel free to.
Nah. No middle ground here. Sorry. This an anti-player move, period.
Yes but I don’t really see them walking all the way back on this though so middle ground is the best we got

I have a better suggestion for the "spamming revives" issue.
How about adding a cooldown of like, 30 minutes before you're able to use a revive again?
That way people won't just spam them. They are either forced to play their very best so that they can get the max use out of their try, or either have to patiently wait 30 minutes to try again.
You can also add an option to watch like 5x ads to skip the cooldown. And another option to skip it via some additional units as well, why not.
That’s not the real issue. They don’t care that you’re using a lot of revives. They care that you’re not spending 40 units a piece for them
From what I understand, they care about the level of challenge that the content they release provides. When you have Players sitting on stockpiles of Revs from farming and they're pushing through it the day it's released, that puts a strain on design. At least that's what I'm interpretating.
Revive spamming only really works as well as it does bc they let Herc loose busted as all hell. A 20% revive with no pots doesn't get you very far most of the time unless you just so happen to have a champ that goes immortal and unblockable for a minute or two at a time. Probably should have looked at that first...
I mean, it's an interesting theory, but I doubt it is completely related to Herc. There are other, less dramatic ways to resolve that.
I revive farmed for carinas. I used the 20% on the first 4 right side fights then 40% and team for the next 4. Some are mass spamming though 150+.
He isn't the first Champ that resists dying though.
Nope, but he's the most efficient to do so with BY FAR, as not only does he resist dying, he also has massive DPS and goes unblockable. The closest to Herc cheesing we've had in the past was Corvus timeouts and that was limited to AQ basically. Herc has single handedly allowed players that are flat out terrible at the game to mindlessly finish basically any content for free that wasn't champ gated or item capped. Believe whatever it is you like but the root of this issue is absolutely Herc regardless of how they spin it.
I disagree, I'm not that good at the game and I just started "revive spamming". The game within itself has been doable without the difficulty it has now. The ramp up in difficulty allows Kabam to make content that still isn't easy with Herc. Herc is still a relatively new champ. People would find a way to bust through content after Youtubers drop video. The only thing Herc brings is non creatively when picking champs and Kabam allowed us to Herc spam the first 4 fights in Carina. THEY allowed that by having the champion swap. You take that away there's no more Herc for objectives. You really have this all wrong. Also, I'm surprised you're still playing lol.
“The biggest change you’ll see is to revive drop rates across Acts 1 to 3 (Prologue). There are a number of factors that led to the current near certain drop rate of revives in 3.2.6. These drop rates have always been higher than intended.”
So actually it is a bug that favors the players am i right? It shouldn’t be higher than intended. That’s why they fixed it LOL.
So excited about this new initiative, I’m glad Kabam keeps thinking how to make us happy, this is far more necessary than fixing controls issues whichever they want to call it.
“Farming revives trivializes endgame content” but farming arena for units doesn’t? Also doesn’t that tell you more about the ridiculousness of your content that average human players have to farm 50, 70, 100+ revives to do it? What was the reaction these nimrods (not the character, cause the character in the game is good unlike,… you know) were expecting?

This is especially true for Carina volume 1 and 3
And I didnt say that you dont need revives to do Everest content, I said that you shouldnt be needing 10 revives a day for two weeks to do them, and if you need those revives that means that either your skills or your roster are not good enough for that content.
I think people still doesnt know for who this Everest content is meant for.
The big accounts with great skills are the ones that should be doing Carina's Challenges and Everest content, and If you take a look at the videos that are on youtube from some of those, you will see that after doing some tries and learning the fights they dont need more than 42 revives, that is the amount that you get on 3 weeks of farming ONLY the ones from the daily quest and daily mission.
The fact that people that is not really able to do the Everest content properly needs a ton of revives, that doesnt mean that they SHOULD need them.
And once again, Im talking about the game if it didnt have all the bugs that it has, since it is the worst moment to make this change.
Bro i dont want to insult you, but u talking about getting better at the game or talking about EoP or Carinas etc. Have u done at least one of the everest content in the game that you are preaching about getting better to other players? “ 2 revives a day is enough for those kind of contents “ The irony is pretty hilarious when i already know the answer…
First of all, there is no such thing as a bug that favors Players. People might think they're getting some kind of benefit, but they're all detrimental. Secondly, if that was the case, it's actually an example of the opposite. It's been in existence for years. Also, another day, another Account?
I know the real reason why this is happening, and I understand both sides.
Your parent company "Netmarble" had a huge loss in revenue at the end of 2022 somewhere in the region of a $700 million drop compared to 2021's $2.1 billion ($196 million profit)
Since MCOC makes up 13% of there main revenue source which is the largest out of all there games it makes since for them to be cracking down on you guys (Kabam) since your there biggest cash cow.
The problem is that these suits at the top don't understand why there games make money they just know that its working and they want it to keep printing until it runs dry, I think Kabam knows this is not going to be a good thing for this game but they see no other way to increase revenue from the game so they decided to make revives into a more p2w style item then they already are. In theory this is smart if your a business person, you look and think "if we cut off the supply they'll have no choice but to buy" basically create the problem sell the solution
The thing is though that MCOC players are notoriously stubborn and purposely avoid spending money most of the time (I know I do) except for special days like July 4th, Cyber weekend, and Christmas/gifting month. I for one spend a good amount of money in these types of events because there the best value in the game when it comes to spending real life cash and I want to support the game.
Making revives basically impossible to get or store without paying with units/cash is a bad decision and will cause a lot of your most loyal players to leave the game. Which is terrible since there the reason this community even exists. Content at the high level is already frustratingly hard enough, having to optimize the way you farm revives is apart of that grind and challenge. Now you basically have made it so that 29 revives is all you get to do the hardest content in the game for free otherwise you must spend money.
And you could say "well just farm arena then" and your right you could do that but arena is the most boring and unfun to do content in the entire game, the amount of time you have to spend in the arena to get 3k units is astronomical. it could take like 100 hours. I think Kabam knows this and hopes for this honestly that people will get bored of the arena grind and just give into spending money for units.
At the end of the day I get it the Netmarble overlords want to squeeze more money out of Kabam/MCOC so Kabam is running out of options to monetize and decided to stop allowing revive farming and hope for more spending on them.
Personally I think its incredibly distasteful to do this since your now bottlenecking progression even more especially now for people who arent at the high levels of the game. This is going to cause people to give up on the game in time, I personally hope this is reverted or changed into a better system. I spend a good amount on this game to I will not spend money any more or may just leave if Kabam continues down this path. Please find other ways to monetize the game that actually adds value to the game instead of taking away from it.
I love how Kabam comments about resource caps but doesn’t address the issue of how sooo many player are upset about this. Really picking those battles 😂 Kabam really needs to get their CEO under control, this game has gone downhill since he took over and forced them to really focus on “innovative ways” to increase revenue. If only someone has told him, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. They will see more players mod or pay mercs to clear content now since doing it “the honest way” wasn’t financially comfortable enough with Kabam
Oh my god, you get LVL 1 REVIVE for EXPLORING the HARD DIFFICULTY. And you get ANOTHER 1 LVL 1 REVIVE for the 22H DAILY MISSION.
So 2 revives a day WITHOUT taking account on DAILY CRYSTALS, 1-5% DROP RATES, and also the fact that you can farm UNITS to BUY those REVIVES.
Seriously, we are getting an AMAZING amount of revives frequently if we want them, and we are using MORE than we should.
The only thing Kabam should do is wait for at least half the bugs to be fixed and make the caps bigger, and thats it.
The whole idea is completely tone deaf to the fact that pots, iso, etc. have not scaled with the increasing health pools of the higher tier champs. There might be a “balance” here or there, but a complete rework of the daily system across the board might have been met with at least a little more enthusiasm. They make “adjustments” to game content that is completely out of alignment with the comparable level of difficulty in story content because players aren’t advancing as much as they would like for them to advance, remove rewards that were the only real draw to lower level content for higher level players and then pull this maneuver out of nowhere, knowing full well that the backlash (as has been pointed out by multiple people in this thread) will set the stage for the inevitable switcheroo of “ok ok. We’re going to enhance our offering to xxx revives at xxx percentage drop rate” as though the player base are completely brain dead and won’t notice. Touché.
How’s about at least postponing this terrible change until a reasonable solution is found? Obviously this is something that will take a bit of time, and at this point extending a little grace to the players is probably a good PR move.
I disagree. Leave it alone completely. Not trying to compromise on this one. I spend enough already without having to worry about revive spamming through units.
Nope. You need to go back and read. You get 1% chance at 20% on on easy and 5% chance at 40% on on hard. It’s not a guarantee
Comments
The ones that need to be constructive is your company and not the player base.
