Okay, Mutant class needs some love

Thankfully, some of the classes have seen some nice additions, like tech with Shocker and Ant-man Future. Skill with Baron Zemo and Kate Bishop. Then mystic with abs man. Now we have Adam Warlock for cosmic who looks very powerful.

But damn, Mutant has been kinda neglected. There's no mutant in the top 10 for prestige and I think it's been over a year now since we've had one. I'm pretty sure we are gonna get some more in June, which is good.

Question is which mutants do you want to see? For me it's definitely Legion and Multiple Man. I love the idea for multiple man, having his run in animation be him pulling in other versions of himself, as they try to run away from the fight.

    It's true that we haven't had a new mutant since march last year, and getting more would be nice. That said, just because there are no mutants among top 10 prestige champions does not mean they have become the weakest class in the game. That is not a very good argument. They may not be at the same level as they were in 2020 and 2021, but the mutant class is still very strong, and the percentage of bad mutant champions is still very small compared to other classes.

    In my opinion, he falls off a ton in later content when rosters are stronger. In act six and other early content, he's great as he shuts down a wide range of difficult bosses pretty easily. However, in acts 7 and 8, when rosters are much stronger, he isn't needed as much as there's almost always better counters for the fights.

    Domino relies on synergies to be actually capable on attack, but havok is pretty good, you're right. I don't see how toad is any good on attack besides shutting down NF's second life

    Cosmic is obviously better, and science and mystic are arguably better.

    Cosmic: Angela, Galan, Hercules, Odin, Hulkling, Venom, Corvus Glaive, Gamora, Knull, Hyperion, Venompool, Sersi, Cosmic Ghost Rider, Gorr, Medusa, Aarkus, King Groot, and CMM are all good, great, or god tier champs.

    Meanwhile...

    You also have Stryfe, Omega Red, Wags, Storm X, Gambit, Emma. Like I mentioned earlier, the percentage of bad mutants is small when compared to other classes.

    EDIT: Forgot to mention that buffed Iceman is looking like a very strong champion too

    I've been thinking the same. Whenever we need to pick a class nexus, I look at the mutants I don't have and instantly dismiss the class. There's just nobody there that's as critical as champs from other classes.

    There are so many mutants that I’d love to see added, particularly some more members of the Brotherhood like Pyro and Avalanche. It’s been over a year since we saw the last mutant, which was Captain Britain in March of last year. Hopefully we see more mutants later this year after June, not because I think the mutant class is falling behind, I’m just a fan of the X-Men franchise and want to see more of those characters get added.

    He still crushes any metal matchup. He was probably the best option for Ant-Man Future and Cassie and he’s still broken for some really annoying champs, especially in EOP. For a metal matchup he’s probably always going to be a top 3 option so I completely disagree

    I still would love to see more Mutants that are insane, since its my favorite "group" of characters from Marvel, but we have a pretty stacked roster of Mutants.

    We dont have THAT MUCH of options than in other classes? Yeah but the ones that we have are pretty pretty good, I think Mutant class overall is still better than Tech and Science

    “Any good on attack”.. he is a strong offensive champ. Incredible survivability, huge specials, counters purify. I see him as a medusa- level attacker. No slouch and has a real purpose

    Also saying Domino RELIES on synergies is incredibly dismissive to her insane (albeit RNG based) kit

    Mutant is significantly outshined by other classes in defense and prestige, and hardly any mutants compare to the top champs of other classes, basically just apoc and archangel at this point. Before the kitty fanboys come after me, she isn’t used at all in high tier war, is bad on defense, and is pretty slow in BGs.

    I think the best champs from Science are better than the best of Mutants, but I dont think Science has a better roster overall.

    I counted 17 Mutants that are not worth, and 20 Science champs that are not worth, and Science has 41 champs in total, 1 more than Mutants.

    It helps now that Iceman got a great buff, he looks like top 10 in the class with immunities and quick consistent damage but it still ain't enough

    You do realize prestige means nothing when it comes to overall strength of a champ or class? It's solely meant to break ties in aq scores.
