Featured Crystals need to be distinguishable.

So I have been hoarding featured crystals in anticipation for the new pool and turns out that pool is locked to the time you bought the crystal? If this were the case, each new featured crystal would need its own name or be dated with the month and year.

I guess I assumed it was like a champ entering the basic pool being able to get it from a crystal purchased before the champ entered the pool.

Hopefully kabam understands this and updates it to avoid people like me who have all the champs in the old pool and now am sitting on 30x crystals that I can’t use for the new pool as I intended. Will update this as I get info if anyone else is having the issue.

I understand the color change and may be long known (to players who have played for a long time), however each one being assigned a name or date range etc would help new players like myself from having this issue occur and effectively my 450k shards can’t go to what I want. I learned my lesson for now but I’m a firm believer of dummy proofing things.

Thanks for your input, but being that I am not opposed to spending, and have played for under a year I still think regardless of if I get this resolved, it would benefit everyone new and old for a better system. Cynicism doesn’t make me feel worse, or help the topic at all. Have a great day.

The latter is a personal issue where the former is more economic based. I’m working this with support and are getting close to an understanding. So far there’s no disagreement that there is room for confusion and no real guide on this.

The change to the featured pool and crystals has been like this for a few years now. The crystal changes color even. This is a you problem and not Kabam. It's not even a bug.

Now, if you're hoarding Abyss nexus crystals, those do update the pool available.

My point is to make me an example at the minimum. Make it so that players like me who picked this game back up after I stopped 6 years ago can EASILY understand this.

To your point an abyss nexus is called an abyss nexus. Any champs entering can be received post purchasing the crystal.

There is no naming difference with the featured and the only identifier is color at most. So I’ll bite the bullet with my unopened 30x if kabam is unable to just revert them back to shards, however I think it does NO HARM to implement a system that says like “featured crystal 1 23” first number being month second being year, or just do them like many other games with just the month after the featured.

I appreciate all the input and if at the end we just want to call me dumb that’s fine. But me being dumb doesn’t mean the game can’t be more clear

If it's the 15,000 shard ones, those indicate what their full contents are, and if you didn’t intend to open them and wait until they updated, wouldn’t have been a reason to actually “convert” 15,000 shards into the actual crystal. Just keep shards increasing until there's a 15,000 version you want.

You’re not buying like a Basic 4* crystal which if use 2000 shards to buy a 4* shard crystal, will (I’m guessing) constantly get new contents as champs are added to Basic Pool.
If you convert 2000x of 4* shards once a month, over 6 months, those 6 “fully formed” 4* crystals are all lumped together in the same inventory count.
Even though “converted” in different months, when there were different champs in the Pool at the time.
So I assume the contents of those already-formed 4* will always reflect Current Basic Pool when opened.

Hi no I meant the 15k featured pool that changes every few months. I was under the impression it worked like the basic pool and was happy with that thought since I could capitalize on the black market prices for the last few months etc.

I also knew that I would be tempted to snag other dual class crystals if I let the shards sit so I just always converted to featured a when I could and there was no temptation to roll it since I had everything I wanted from this batch.

I totally understand people saying that the information I thought was correct is wrong and that I could have looked elsewhere to find the info, however I just learned about these forums even today haha. So for me the best place for the info would be the game.

With that said I’m not asking kabam to like undo my rolls etc. I’m asking for the simple courtesy of noticing these crystals have sat for a long time and if they can be reverted to shards. Not asking for anything additional or compensation etc. Just a 1 to 1 value. This post was to get peoples input with the added bonus of “hey I can’t be the only person who didn’t know and there’s potentially a better way to do this.”

Here we are. Me who made a genuine mistake which I can admit may have been preventable if I knew where to look, but also with a solution that can help future summoners

I can say maybe this is titled poorly where it’s more so a suggestion for the future because yes the crystals are different colors but it wasn’t obvious that If I held onto/pre purchased a few that it was locked to the previous pool.

You could try submitting a Support Ticket. Asking for refund (of that Sigil Black Market reduced cost).

They'd have to track down from where you purchased them, and only return you the discounted shards you actually paid (not a full 15,000 as if you got them in normal Crystals tab)

But, FYI like I mentioned above, within that store they have that (i) information icon on upper right corner of panel. That would show you which Feature it is before you even buy it.
(think that is maybe half of what you were asking for initially ? a way to identify them ?)

No harm in asking support, however, if I understand your request correctly, not only do I think it is unlikely support would do this, I do not believe they should be doing either. This would contradict some featured crystal policies that have been around for a long time. To wit, the devs do not announce the contents of future featured crystals in their entirety ahead of time for a very specific stated reason: to prevent indefinite comparison shopping leading to indefinite hoarding of shards.

If you want to hoard shards indefinitely, that's your prerogative, as it is for anyone else. But if they let players buy featured crystals and then see what future crystals contain and then let them ask support to revert the crystals to shards, that would be no different than the player being handed the contents of past and future crystals and allowing them to pick which one they want. That's explicitly something they changed crystal announcement policy to prevent.

It is not my job to tell you no, but I will be very interested to know if support tells you yes.

Hey yea I totally understand what you are saying and I agree actually. Buying then returning, isn’t really detrimental as it’s an equal exchange, but a waste of supports time. I understand it’s my word versus whoever I’m speaking to’s opinion of my story, but I did know baron zemo was in this pool since absorbing man was in last and so I started saving, buying the features from black iso market, etc. all to get him and plan out the content I was to create and I just didn’t realize that this is how the crystal works.

We will see what happens and I think support should be able to figure out if I was saving for a reason or just abusing them. Either way life will go on and I will let you know.

I hear ya man! I just thought it was the same as like abyss nexus crystals or any other one where if u bought it early, the pool always was based on the current. I’m learning features don’t work this way. So either kabam just lets me swap them out as I’ve hoarded them for months or they don’t and I learned a lesson.

Yea I’m glad it worked out too as genuinely not knowing how it worked but the support was clean and concise and I think of you saw the communication you wouldn’t think any excessive authority was used.
