BG resources/points

I understand how the matchmaking works. I understand that big beefy rosters get stuck in platinum and diamond because they spent and never actually got good. I get that the system places an emphasis on roster building and progression rather than skill.

However, I am a cavalier player. I basically go undefeated all the way to plat 2 every season and i usually score 100-150k points getting there. Once I start matching the whales, though, I quit. It's a waste of elder marks to get crushed. The rewards I get at this point are fine.

Normally it doesn't bother me, but with the new rewards for next season, I have no idea how I'm gonna get to 300k. That's a ton of Ls and eldermarks I'm gonna have to spend to finish in the same spot of the VT.

I'm cavalier because Im not a fan of story mode. I'm not a fan of 5+ min fights. I am perfectly fine progressing at the rate that I am. I just think that pushing for 300k points to make up for no AW isnt going to be fun and interactive.

Maybe once the whales get to GC, you leave them there.

Don't quit, you still score points from a loss, whether that be with or without elder marks. Of course I can understand why one wouldn't want to use elder marks if they know they'll lose (or are 99% sure they will). But yeah, don't quit mate, stick out each match you'll be better for it! I faced a few cavs in the diamond/plat points of VT n I lost a couple of them due to poor gameplay or even just being outdrafted

You could always win 1 with elders marks and lose 2 with energy to stay in bronze/silver all season until you have enough points, then power through to as high as you can get.

I’m not a fan of the way AW rewards are in BG, due to the delay of the AW season, but it’s just one season. It’s not a regular occurrence.

Ultimately if you are only Cav you wouldn’t be getting the higher end resources anyway, as you’d have to be in higher end Alliance for AW to earn them. So I don’t actually think your missing out on what you’d normally get. It would be like me complaining I can’t reach the rewards that Masters get, when I’m nowhere near a Masters Alliance.

1) There are 3 fights that took 5 minutes or longer from 6.2.1 to 7.4.6, and those are GM and the kang bosses.

2) the longer you sit not progressing your account, there are hundreds of non-whales progressing past you every week, acquiring and ranking up more champs, and joining the same bg pools. The ones there already are just getting beefier.

3) take a look at the accounts in gamma. Take a look at your cav account. I have a cav alt. It doesn't rain 6* shards and 6bcs/t3as for that account like it does my paragon or even tb. If you're looking for king of the cavs bg mode, look at that leaderboard and tell us that bgs aren't king of the paragon mode.

Progress how you like, and vent freely on the boards, but this is what it is.

Also, now would be a great time to progress to Thronebreaker and beyond. Push in story content and get the next title!. It will help you out in BGs as well.
