They made 7* too strong and some people realized it very early.

As soon as I saw the deals, it was clear that the meta had shifted. Top players are sitting at over 10 7* with some duped.

Kabam either had to sell loads of 7* shards or give up 6r5s. None of the spenders would have bought anything if 6r4s was the offer. I’m not even a top player and have 15 6r4.

Top players are sitting on 10+ duped ones. I have 2 duped and 6 Unduped and I'm not a top player or a whale. I played a guy in BG that had 3 r2 duped ones and 8 more r1 duped and a handful more Unduped.

Yeah, the game has clearly shifted to the point where mid levels need a few 6r5s to be even in the ballpark.

This was the minimum Kabam could have offered. I think they went too far with 5 limit though.

These deals shifted the entire game and it’s pretty crazy they have created such a huge divide in the player base.

The game doesn’t even offer enough resources to r5 5 6* champs let alone in 10mins.

The divide is not new. Spenders have long enjoyed the advantage of progressing faster, and that will not change as long as Kabam needs to support its team of developers, designers, support, HR, payroll, etc. the game is free to PLAY but not free to RUN. Kabam is a business. They need money.

I know this doesn’t make you feel better and is not my intention. It is merely reality, with which we must deal or remain salty and aggrieved.

Making money is one thing, yes they are a business who needs to make money and all games have spenders who always progress faster but these deals created a huge divide because moderate spenders and very skilled players who could clear all content really fast stood a chance and it’s not the case now.

BGs is not the only mode that has been affected

Soon enough high tier AW might also get affected as F2Ps will perhaps not be able to find a spot with their defense rosters

And AQs at the top have always been about spending

BGs is just the mode where this is most noticeable to everyone but it affects F2Ps in all competitive game modes

At least in AW F2P can still sustain themselves on the basis of their skill & commitment if the alliance allows them a place even with slightly weaker roster

But in BG it's almost impossible to compete when the roster difference is too wide
U might be able to win against a few of these accounts with better drafts or just due to bugs, but realistically F2Ps will just get thrashed in most matches, specially considering that there are no uniform matchmaking criterias in BGs

Brian Grant said it best. These sales rendered 7-year-old accounts that aren’t partaking in any deals obsolete. It’s a shame that overnight someone can far surpass people playing the game for so long

There was always the case of F2P players being a bit behind but always being able to at least compete. That ain't a possibility anymore, you 100% every bit of content in 2022/23 and buy deals with grinded units and you can have max 3x6* r5 that's with high level aq/aw rewards too, closer to 2 and a half.

One weekend had undone years of work for ftp players as they simply can't compete now they'll have 25% of the roster a whale has.

As I am sure numerous other have said, without the whales, this game wouldn’t exist. I don’t get why that concept is so hard for people to understand. Yes we also need the other 95% as well to help spread the word and play the game, but that doesn’t mean we should get the same rewards as those that pay the bills.

Whales should absolutely be able to dominate us that don’t spend. It isn’t like everyone is a whale, they are a small percentage. By spending that much, they should be the ones getting the better rewards.

All of us dolphins, minnows, and plankton can fight for the lower rewards.

This opposite is more true. Withou F2P players this game wouldn't go anywhere

If you think the F2P Players could ever touch the whales, you're mistaken. People will never keep up with those who have massive funding behind them, for free.
The good news is they don't have to. The game is playable without spending.

I think they ban 7*’s from BG for now. We can compete with 6*’s but not the 7’s. I have 7*’s so it would hurt me not to be able to take them in but it would make the playing field a bit more doable. Fight r6’s is hard enough. R2 7*’s destroy most anyone with champs under r4 6*’s. Like a dude said above about KT1 steam. I agree.

At this stage I don't care about cheaters. They don't harm me, they harm whales. And maybe a few people that do have PARRY working.
