Is it possible for an ai to parry against you when you try to punish it's Special?

In Battlegrounds i was fighting CGR and when he throw sp1 and i dexed all of it i went straight ahead to punish him but he managed to Parry me, is it possible? It's the first time this is happened to me with him. It happened twice in a row in that fight

    It's possible if you were too far when you dexed. It happens a lot to me against CGR or BWCV

    Yes very much possible. I never try to punish CGR SP1 after a full dex.

    CGR is tricky to punish is sp1. If you are far away, it's always a bad idea since he has time to recover. I learnt my lesson and never punish is sp1.

    You guys worry about parry? I get light intercepted here, even I DON'T KNOW how to do it properly but AI does like wtf bruh, why so aggressive (specifically venom and warlock AIs)

    It's quite a few champs for me ... even trying to punish a routine heavy attack I've been parried more than ever lately. The same specials or heavies I've punished a thousand times but lately yeah .. KABOOM.
