Members can still place in closed groups if an alliance only runs 1 or 2 BGs, and members can place in the right group but on the wrong map. Ally leaders still have no way to correct these kinds of mistakes.
Keeping the incredibly short placement window to switch defenders from suicide masteries between subsequent wars.
War defenders are still getting locked for players in AQ and solo content (and even if they're not even in the alliance).

I hope these changes are proving beneficial for top tier competitive alliances, but the game mode definitely seems much more complicated for more casual players.

Also my defenders that have been stuck placed aren't even fn there for defense in the war that just started. Locked for nothing. Just absurd.

You had 3 hours for placement phase. It has been announced well in advance that this is the way it works. Once defense is set, you never have to change it again
