Off your list I’d rank Odin first. I used my 5* for his prefight abilities all they way through at least 7.4.6 and probably somewhere in Act 8. Having him ranked up as a usable team member will be worthwhile in the long run.
Mine is at 5*R4 and he’s still useable for a fight or two on top of giving extra buffs with his prefight. Early on I think he’ll be a strong 5* to help you out and you won’t regret spending the resources on him.
Worth Ranking for Defense only: Ebony Maw, Kraven, MODOK, and Mojo
Top Tier champ: Magik but you need to watch a few videos. As a reference, she can be broken when used correctly and therefore Kabam has not released her as a 6*. She is one of only two champs to not be released.
Can also consider Venompool but he has specific uses, so watch a couple of videos first.

She's 100% doesn't need practice:
Step 1: Hit the opponent till you get to SP2.
Step 2: Throw your SP2
Step 3: Rinse, and repeat.
She's the only champion on the list not available as a 6*. There are very few champions Kabam has quietly avoided releasing as six star champions; which should tell you something about how good she is.
Odin and Masacre are also good. Mojo probably not unless he gets Awakened.
Masacre is still criminally underrated, and absolutely brilliant for doing a lot of damage very fast.
Whatever you do, don't waste resources on MODOK, Kraven, Guillotine or Beast.
Venompool can steal buffs from others to regen as well as have a good damage and a great counter against robots.
Masacre has a really good block damage on his sp2 as well as ok bleed and incinerate damage.
They are more champions in your list that are good in their own way you just gotta notice and utilize it.
Magik has very strong power control, and if played reasonably well she can deal with a lot of troublesome fights. If they don't have power they can't throw specials, and an opponent that can't throw specials is basically fighting with both hands tied behind their back. Venompool is less of an obviously powerful champ but he does have some interesting utility. In particular, one of his buffs allows him to suppress the evade that most spider champs possess, and for newer players especially that's a god send. Immunity to power burn/drain from tech champs is also something that is pretty useful for newer players.
