Synergies made active in BG’s

Is there a time frame on when champ synergies will become active in BG’s?

I see no reason why synergies in your chosen deck can’t be made active for attack phase like they are in other game variants like AW, AQ and incursions.

This would allow greater variety in deck selection and avoid the need to focus on one trick pony champs for BG purposes.

They are individual fights. It's not like area where you go three on three. You have a deck, and you pick one defender and one attacker. Synergies would make no sense.

You get to select 7 champs from your deck. If any of those 7 have a synergy and you use the champ as an attacker (just like AW) then the synergy applies.

That assumes when it’s time to select your champs from your deck of 30 that you actually can select Agent Venom, Scorpion and Kraven.

If your opponent was worried you’d use the AG venom synergy all they would need to do is ban one of the members of the synergy

You have 7 champs chosen from your deck of 30. BG’s is the best of three fights. All fights in the game are 1 on 1. There is not tag in fighting in any game mode of this game. If you should happen to have champs in your chosen deck of 7 that synergise then that shouldn’t be an issue.
In most instances we’re probably talking about minor synergy benefits like extra health or attack or extra critical. The chances of agent venom’s synergy making into your deck of 7 would be extremely low (especially when your opponent could easily ban say 1 member of that synergy if they were worried about it)

Also You wouldn’t be able to make any mutant a horseman because your Apoc would 1) need to be in the deck of 7 and 2) start a round with either cable/Mr Sinister/Kang on your team to allow APOC to have four charges for his fight. So APOC’S pre-fight would never work

But what is wrong if you have in your deck of 7 for example Scorpion and Venom? Yes scorpion gets the medium fury synergy but so what. Your opponent gets the same opportunity to select the same.

It will be very difficult to utilise correctly (if you put apoc on defence and have cable on your team, the opponent might just place a robot on defence stuff like that) but can play into the match pretty nicely.
This would also allow wider usage of more champs in BGs. At this point it is just the same 15 attackers and 15 defenders (if kabam doesn't decide to bring back metas like chitinous thorns).

I kind of agree, it has to be this way. It does lock out some champions who are not viable for a format like BG without other or more of their synergies activating. Agent Venom is a prime example of that.

But I think it's necessary. Balancing would be really challenging if synergies were allowed, if realistically possible at all.

Correct. Each season we basically see the same top 15 champs for attack and defense re used. You allow synergies you increase the breadth of viable champs.

For example. OG Abom on his own is unless. No one would want to put that champ into their deck. But if the Red Guardian synergy was allowed (as it is in every other mode of game play) then boring unless OG Abom becomes significantly more useful in attack due to his chance to apply a lot of poison debuffs.

Another example. Take Beardo. That champ is effectively nerfed in BG’s and I mean he’s nerfed because Beardo’s signature doesn’t apply at all. There is no reason if you have Beardo in your deck of 7 that his signature should also apply based on the classes of other champs in your deck.

As I said above. You know Beardo’s signature doesn’t even work in BG’s. Beardo is effectively nerfed for this particular game mode and that shouldn’t be the case.

Another example where synergies would help. Take trophy champ Kang OG. on his own he is fairly unless. But when paired with Apoc he gains those extra fury buffs which then make him a very viable attacker.
(And sure Apoc gets his 4 charges from the get go)
