Wasp in BGs this season? Just needs a tiny value buff (hint hint)

In battlegrounds, Wasp has a chance to reclaim some value again. In ebb and flow knock down she doesn’t need to parry because she can chain her heavy. Then in crit me with your best shot she gets lots of guaranteed crits plus has a high crit rate.

Due to her heavy chain, she controls the space of the fight as well as any other champ. That’s an underrated utility imo. She might be worth an r4 plus she always can synergize with Ghost and Hood.

Kabam should consider a value buff for her. If they just increased the time and potency of her concussion and petrify debuffs then she’d be a relevant champ again and also a good early 7*. Please Kabam think about it.

I have Wasp at r3 and I don’t necessarily think she needs a buff per se. The problem is she’s a total glass cannon and can’t take any blocked hits and relies on high skill and intercepting. I’d love to see her get either a base health update or increase her block proficiency, or Both

@DUHveed The current rationale is Wasp can chain heavies in the corner when the defender is below a bar of power, then she can bait and punish the sp1 to repeat the heavy spam in the corner. That means never blocking. Sometimes that works brilliantly but that style doesn’t work for over half the potential matchups. So I definitely agree with you that she needs more block proficiency and more HP.

I’m surprised you say she doesn’t need her concussion time and potency and petrify time potency increased. Do you actually find yourself using her successfully when needing to reduce ability accuracy, reduce healing, or reducing power gain? I mean in battle grounds if she gets up to a combo of 30 then she is only reducing ability accuracy by 30% for 8 seconds (vs non mystics). That’s isn’t very helpful utility in bgs in my opinion. Now if she got 2% for ever hit and got capped at 80% plus it lasted for 12 seconds then that would be much more useful.

Keep in mind, the crit me meta gives guaranteed crits for like 8 seconds when you intercept the opponent which you're going to do anyways with wasp. Wasp is a decent counter to maw in that meta because he doesn't cause the guaranteed crit miss against science champions and the heavy makes him lose focus.

Other champions to consider using in the ebb and flow meta are, Chavez, Silk, doom, and iron doom because they all have the similar heavy mechanic wasp has and are much tankier than wasp.

She was my second r4 after ghost. No regrets at all. She’s so fun to play and I regularly use her for TB EQ science quest; also did very well against the grandmaster for me back in the day because you could just chain those heavies and do some big numbers. Yes, she’s a glass cannon, but being able to chain that heavy attack is great for giving the opponent energy so that they will use their specials.
