Degen Counters

Any natural degen counters I’m not thinking of? I know spidey ham with his nonsense and hulk based on missing health, I sort of consider those less than ideal. But maybe that’s just how it is. I’m thinking void counters in particular. But any general degen counter advice I’d appreciate it. I usually just power through and if it is needed I’d revive. I’d rather not do that haha. Does void deal degen damage? I thought his damage was different from degen. Either way, for void you're better off using someone who shrugs debuffs (not kingpin), someone with longer combos (like quicksilver), Valerie can manipulate her combo to easily hit a 10 generally, or just change your playstyle such as sitting at 9 combo until the debuff appears.

The only other champion I can think off the top of my head with degen resistance is Mr negative and his debuffs

For Void, Black Cat, Jabari and Mole Man are good, for the purify abilities. Spider Ham is always my go to champ when I have to face degen, works everytime and perfectly

I’ve played this game since the beginning. But never made a habit of learning too much, I just wing it mostly, as is obvious haha. I have a bad habit of going into fights blind too. I thought my controls were going haywire yesterday (which would not have been a surprise) turned it was a node with reverse controls on defenders special haha

Why is kingpin not ideal?

kingpin has his own personal debuffs and void does "direct damage" not degen for each unique debuff on the opponent, so kingpin will just take a tonne of damage. best counters are shrug champs like Moleman, zemo, elsa, BP OG awakened etc

You can also try using regen champs and heal back whatever health gets lost from degen.

Knull has 40% reduction and Mr Negative heals as mentioned. Photon looks like she has some resistance to degen with ramp. iHulk gains more gamma so you heal it eventually. Personally I’d say Mr. Negative is the best but Knull is great because there is no ramp necessary just 40% out of the box

Why is kingpin not ideal?

Zemo, Nick and Mantis are usually my go-to for Void depending on the nodes. Crossbones (max sig), Shang, Cap IW (max sig with a skill champ on your team), Jabari Panther, Mole-Man, Agent Venom should work too though. I'm sure there's more but I haven't memorized what every single champ in the game does lol.

King Groot is actually a good Void Counter in most cases. Shrugs Debuffs and heals back the other damage.

not sure I would want to use him in very long fights. because eventually things will line up to give you the debuff during regen and you won't shrug it, that happens enough and you could have some problems. Depending on the power disparity of the fight. But Generally King handles my Voids.

Namor would be my next choice. why prevent the damage when you could just send it back to him. Hes my FAVORITE power sting counter cuz he also sends that back. Just incredible.

This is what I DONT like about Mr. Negatives way of dealing with the regen. This only works as long as the degen doesn't go higher than the amount of the heal. In BIG fights that go above that amount, this only really counts as some "resistance". And that all depends on the damage being done.

its sorta like Elsa Evade counter. It technically is an evade counter. and works is lots of matchups when you can safely trigger the evade THEN apply the cold snap. but in a fight where its imperative you PREVENT the evade. Not even bringing her.

Mr negative also gets 40% resistance to degen per unique debuff on the enemy, is really good in things like AW where you can take a mojo with Mr fantastic prefights on for free healing.

Just so happens I have a dupped 7 star Elsa and r3 black cat and panther I ranked since she is fun and panther for herc.

Duped she hulk can also shrug voids debuffs. She is one of my favorite void counters as well.
