Question regarding BGs matchmaking

Last season everyone started getting impossible matches after reaching plat 1. Just wondering if this is the case in the current season. Has anybody with a mid account made it to plat 1 and could answer?

    I think they tinkered with the matchmaking and now lower levels get more higher levels throughout. Because it was much easier for lower levels to progress through than the higher ones because of the matchmaking...
    I recently made TB and so far haven't had a matchup where I would have had better lineup than the opponent...

    well, I have a 350k cav account, I'm gold 3 and so far I've been getting equal opponents

    Yup and in platinum you lose your training wheels, so enjoy the fair matchmaking while you can.

    The difficulty varies throughout the season (for instance, the first week is normally harder since the best accounts are pushing through). Starting in Plat II, Cav players start seeing the whole competition, not just their smaller subsection, which may make it feel impossible (those are also the matches paragons have to face since Bronze, so that's why there's little sympathy from paragons).

    Play matches here and there throughout the season to gauge the current level of difficulty. When you find an easier period, then go for it! Otherwise, it will probably be more frustrating than anything else
