Quick n' dirty gauntlet guide!

Milan1405Milan1405 Member Posts: 952 ★★★★
Hey guys this is how I beat gauntlet in 7 revives. If you follow this guide you should be able to beat it in 2-10 revives depending on how well you play and if you have health potions/boosts saved up. People told me they were having difficulty accessing my google document so I've put it here to help anyone needing a good team to smash out gauntlet easily in under an hour. Good luck! Props to kabam, it's actually a pretty fun challenge (a damn sight better than the slog that is the brutal dlx challenge).

My Herc is 5/65 sig 200. My Hulk is 7* r1, and both Nimrod and AA are r4 6*s. It shouldn’t be too far off from what you’ve shared right?

I appreciate the write-up, but I do think that part of the ability to "get it done in 2-10 revives" might also rely on a very specific team being at R5 sig 200 (or 7* R2). Not a terrible thing, just a bummer for like 99.5% of players though.

Really good write ups/advice and formatting though!

Yeah I was looking at this guide thinking I have some of these champs and the ones I do have aren’t as high of a rank as these. I feel like people who have that many champs at those ranks don’t really need a guide. I’ve been going back and forth on giving it a go but if I need that many champs at R5/R2 then I’ll just pass.

My first few runs back in the day were with 5-Stars. I'm confident you'll be okay if you go in with a plan.

I brought CGR, Herc, AA, Apoc and Heimdall.

What this guide shows is who to use and how. If your champs are lower ranks then you may need a few more revives. Important thing is that it really isnt that hard, especially if you have revives expiring daily like many people do who have cleared all other content.

For people without hulk like me.

    Replace hulk with s99.
My s99 is r3. Still putting in work.

Doom: Use a revive with herc, since it was the first fight, so I get the solo and then proceed.

Vision: herc, Just go sp3 don't use it immediately, use your sp3 indistructible to tank visions sp3. Repeat.

DM: S99 damn easy solo after one sp2. Reaching first sp2 is the key.

Mojo: S99 2 sp2s and fight is potato.
Ibom: 1 revive with herc. Don't want to spend revive? nimrod can do it.

Sassy: 1 point in despair needed. Straight-forward fight.

    Thanos: s99 cheeze, refer YouTube.

Thank you! For a bit of context, I started this run casually while half-watching tv at the same time for a bit of practise, not expecting to actually complete it, but before I knew it I was on the third path and decided to just finish it. Hence for most of this run (and certainly the harder fights) I didn't use any boosts at all. Thus I strongly believe anyone with a team of r4s or higher can get this challenge done in under 10 revives if they put 30% boosters on and focus a bit better than I did.

Absolutely mate. Herc does most of the heavy lifting anyway, so it's good he is ur rank 5. If you put on a boost I fully expect you will clear it sub 1 hour in under 10 revives. Good luck!

You don't need any r5s to do this, as many of us used rank 3s when this challenge first came out, so r4s and boosts are plenty strong enough. However, I would recommend waiting until you have a team of r4s as it will save you some revives or potions and its very easy to get a few rank 4s from act 7 and 8, not to mention battlegrounds and glory store now. Act 7 and 8 are easier than gauntlet so makes sense to do them first anyway.

Spidey 2099 is definitely a solid alternative to hulk. If you don't have either hulk or s99 tho you can do the challenge reviveless with just herc, aa and nimrod with wags and heimdall for synergies. Beroman has a run on youtube doin this I think, but it is defo more skill-intensive. I aimed my guide to give the average player the easiest and quickest gauntlet run possible.

Sounds good. I’m working backwards in the story quests. I finished Act 8 and 7.4 so now I’m working on 7.3. The further back I go the more I don’t want to explore. I now have 5 gauntlet keys which I think is prompting me to want to give it a go. I have also been debating for the longest time between ranking Kitty or AA. I keep leaning towards AA just because he’s so good and this might clinch it for me.

AA is so good that he's fine at one level below. He's much like Torch. I'd def do Kitty first.

Very good breakdown. Any ideas for replacing AA? If he was used for MODOK, BPCW and KM would Kitty be a option?

Else I got R4 Herc, Nimrod, and Wags. May need to rank up my 6* Hulk and give this a go if AA is easy to replace which it is looking like it will be.

    Lol I hear you.
Sold about 50+ revives in last month. But wanted to keep the run with less items.
Took 7 revives on first and 6 revives on second run. Random avoidable mistakes. Only 1 revive was forced(killmonger). Team: herc, quake, fury, dp and s99. Quake for korg and doom.

I was less confident than the OP, so i replaced Hulk with Heimdall. The rarity of Heimdall doesn't matter (2* works).

But by switching to Heimdall, I needed a revive against Doom but saved 3 or 4 later on (Korg!!). Herc and AA can replace Hulk in all other fights reasonably well. Just make sure to heal and boost AA before Ibom - with Heimdall AA should be able to one shot him unless you get bad RNG. Hercules + Heimdall also make Thanos much easier.

Thanks for your positive feedback, I'm glad you found my guide useful. Herc can do killmonger and modok, so the main reason to have aa is that bpcw who has evade and unstoppable after special attacks and gains armour which makes him unblockable so the best option for him is someone who will consistently prevent all these buffs from triggering. I think KT1 said doom and tigra were good mystics for this fight, also they can do dragonman. Shang chi and valkyrie also come to mind.

Ah nice, yeah quake destroys most of this challenge. I am fairly decent with her as she was my only option all those years ago for act 6 pre all the nerfs but I just dont find her fun to play. It is a fighting game after all, I do like to actually beat up my opponent

Nice, that is the setup I mentioned at the bottom of the guide that bero used. I believe he did the challenge itemless, the reason I chose my team is that it simply makes the challenge a bit faster and easier, even if it costs a couple more revives.

As I mentioned before, spidey 2099 is a solid substitute for hulk, or you can use a mix of herc and aa to cover the hulk fights. Hope this guide helps you smash this challenge.

So, I feel like I'm missing something on the MODOK fight. I'm using AA, but due to disorient, my parries are failing, and I'm landing no bleeds. The times I do land bleed and get them poisoned, I can't parry heavy again to get any neuros. I just tried 3 times and barely dented him. Is it just luck to get the first neuros to stick?
