To me personally (I know his regen isn't a game changer) the once per quest is a bad move going forward. How many other abilities is Kabam going to change to this mode?

@JessieS Just a heads up, there won't be a lot of early opinions on the Iron Man update, because we weren't able to give anybody an early preview of him (including the CCP). I suggest taking a lower-rarity Iron Man (3 or 4 star) into some older content and trying him out!

Frankly, limiting it to twelve times per quest would be an interesting and not completely out-of-character rebalance.

Or along the same lines (this won't be a very popular option) each time Immortality triggers, it reduces his persistent charge maximum by one.

Honestly, I wouldn't hate it if Herc's persistent charges got reset if you use Immortality. I don't think it should be limited to once per quest, but there should be a significant cost to using it.

He’s pretty good at what he does. Nothing gamebreaking. Certainly a more useful tech champ. Launch an SP2 to get things going in a non-prowess fight. He’s pretty good if not great against all mutants, except for Weapon X and the Magnetos.

He feels great. Wasn’t sure if I liked the animation from the deep dive but after playing him I’m a fan. They did a great job keeping him looking like the first Iron Man movie while still feeling new and fresh. Additionally his animations flow nicely with one exception. You want to parry specials but if you aren’t careful you can accidentally set off the regeneration. That’s my only complaint.

Why not Weapon X and the magnetos? He’s good against Weapon X because you can block the unblockable specials…that’s makes X too easy. As for the Magnetos…if you read Iron Man’s abilities, he’s not affected by Ability Acc. Like what KarateMike said in his video, he’s practically a Nimrod 2.0.

Isn't it just his Armor Ups that aren't affected by Ability Accuracy? He's still not terrific against weapon x, just a little better for being able to block his specials.

This is interesting. His immortality is tied to how many "trials" he's completed and using his immortality resets his trials (either completely or by a set amount). So if he goes immortal, you'd need to rebuild him starting from the next quest and if he goes immortal in that fight it immediately delays that build.

Honestly not bad.

I can't wait for Gladiator and plan on grinding for him in arena, but thinking about it practically... even if I get Gladiator, will I use him over Herc in most places? This would actually give me reason to.

Iron Man is still magnetic and Magneto can still Armour Break - I've tested the fights, using both as attacker/defenders. Iron Man's damage and build against Magneto is pretty slow and Magneto's damage against Iron Man isn't dampened that much. Not an ideal matchup for either of them, but this Iron Man is not a Magneto counter, nor should he be TBH.

I've finally had a chance to test him and he is easily becoming one of my favorite champions. Dude is a beast and is also super tanky. I just don't like how I keep on accidentally triggering the regen on the first sp2 or sp1 🤣
