I think it's more about the possible implications than anything else. If it can be perceived as that then it's best to just change it to cover all of their bases

This fix undid paths that were already completed. Do we need to redo all the paths again to get completion? It shows 60% complete instead of 75% and random paths have broken lines.

That is ... really unfortunate.

The game team is working to adjust some paths to make this a little more... palatable.

Now exploration is completely broken even after doing it 100%, now it shows that I haven’t fully explored

This post seems like it was meant as a joke, ofc kabam showed that they can change things extremely quickly and that’s resulted in the quest being glitched.
