I just realized how lacking this game is in diversity lol. Aside from the machines and animals, it’s majority black and white. 2 Indian characters in the whole roster and barely any Hispanic characters.

As someone who doesn’t have much attachment to Robbie or Kushala, I’m fine with the choice to bring her in first. I expected her to be added first since she was a candidate in the Summoner’s Choice vote in 2022. Outside of the winner of each vote, we’ve seen 5 other vote candidates get added as Champs, 4 of those actually being added in 2023 (counting Kushala). While I understand that Robbie has a lot of fans, I’m personally more excited to see Kushala since she’s a more obscure character.

Exactly, we’re getting more and more of the champions from Summoner‘s Choice. Hercules, Omega Sentinel and now Morbius from Vol. 1 … Quicksilver, Baron Zemo, Dani Moonstar and finally Kushala soon from Vol. 2 … plus Gladiator as the winner from Vol. 3

We can expect to see White Tiger quite soon, too.

Yeah, they pretty much went with the lamest possible choice. I get that they were probably wanting more representation and whatnot, but the character is barely a ghost rider. It sucks that they won't bring in another ghost rider for a while either because of this. Give us the flaming heads, people!

Then go with another native American character. Everyone knows how these releases work. Now that another ghost rider has been added, there won't be another for a long time. It's objectively lame to go with a character that lacks all the distinguishing characteristics of what they're supposedly based on. They should've went with someone like Echo
except that they've specifically wanted to add kushala for years, not just lets pick any random native character. we've literally seen like 2 images of her and you're already complaining that she doesn't have the characteristics of what she's supposed to be which is just a weird argument. not all ghost riders are exactly the same anyway
You are aware that she is based off a character from the comics, right? You are aware that she's not an original character that we know nothing about, correct? Also, it's not like they had to specifically wait until November of 2023 to add her, they've could've added her whenever. But now, we won't get another Ghost rider for over a year probably. You seem to be determined to convince everyone else who we think is cool or not. We're not complaining about representation like you keep alluding too, just that we were hoping for someone different. Dang people, everything has to be as if everybody hates everybody when it's simply wanting to play as characters that we enjoyed from the comics (or agents of shield, in this case for me). I was referring to the fact that you said pick a different native character, not that because you don't like her your racist lmao. the idea that because we get one character of a certain we won't get another for a while is also just not that true in reality, wong came out within like, a month of wiccan, mordo and voodoo came out 2 updates before dormmamu, we had 2 spidey villains last year, symbiote spidey, venom and venompool all came out in seperate updates within 1 year, we've had 2 mutant updates with only 1 update in between breaking them up before etc. I get that people want robbie but kushala being added doesn't somehow mean that robbie won't possibly added anytime soon definitively.

I know she's not an original character, but from everything I know about her from the comics she has a flaming skull motif, and rides either a flame horse or a near identical copy of ghost riders bike, literally what else do you need. She's also a sorcerer supreme so that gets added into her character. not all ghost riders are exactly like johnny blaze and if the choice is between a super unique character and robbie who is basically just johnny with a car I know who i'm picking

tbh I do think it's a marvel issue primarily, but it's also just a fact that they can only add 2 champs a month and given that they do 2 champs a month I think they're doing a relatively decent job at including different races and ethnicities, but I don't wanna sound like i'm an expert or anything. in the last half a year alone we've had photon, silk, death strike and dani and are about to get 2 characters of native american descent and a lot of their original characters have been poc

Right but did it HAVE to be this month? I don't think it did. But I'm arguing a different argument from everyone else here and think I'm just confusing people haha.
I'm more advocating for representation no matter the time of year and not making it at just feel like it is delegated to specific celebration months.
I'm happy kushala is in the game but if we had to pick from the pool of ghostriders robbie would have been my top option. It just feels weird to me that it "had" to be this month or something like that

I mean obviously diversity doesn't have to be timed, but are you forgetting that in the last half a year we've had a super diverse roster not tied to any specific month. It's not about whether they absolutely needed to be released for november, but them being released for november isn't an inherently bad thing and I bring it up more to point out that kushala wasn't picked over robbie, kushala who has been in the works for years just ties into the story of their oc and it's an appropriate time of year to release them. I'm saying it was never her or robbie like people are making it out to be.

obviously some people are gonna want robbie, but kushala isn't the roadblock getting in the way of that lmao. also based on the video they showed there are a fair few people of different native tribes working on the game and this is something that they've been super passionate about, so releasing it during this month is hardly some virtue signalling thing or whatever

Yeah that’s definitely true. I was just thinking that there are some more underrepresented groups in the contest. I’m happy with the increased East Asian rep this year but I was just saying that some groups still feel very low on the priority list for more rep.
