This aspect of battlegrounds is frustrating

No, this isn’t another “matchmaking sucks pls give me easier matches thread” but it is something that I find to be super annoying

The placement system confuses me so much. I just went the last 6 matches having to place first (which is a massive disadvantage) and it’s super annoying now. Obviously I can’t expect to place first and have the advantage every time, but sometimes you go matches and matches with you having to place first and I just don’t really get it. Anyone know how this works?

With stuff like this, getting to 450k is gonna be annoying lol

It's RNG based, but there are many reports from players that they are usually go on long placing first streaks.
Unless some buggy interaction occurs in the code, I can't see any reason for that happening except pure luck (being unlucky more specifically since it's a great disadvantage).
Kabam surely haven't any reason to put any parameters to who is placing first, other than RNG.
I've gone a few times on a long placing first streak, but I've also gone a few times on long placing second streaks.
But, I have the minimal education needed to know how Odds and ultimately RNG works.
People due to psychology, chose to observe and report the negative RNG, and rarely the positive RNG.
I would suggest people study some simple statistics, before they play RNG based games and complaining about a very core element of them 🙂

There have been threads about this and I was one of the people being like “RNG, bro 🤷‍♂️” Then at some point I realized it was happening to me a lot so I started keeping track… in 41 of my last 42 matches I’ve drafted and picked first. At first it was surprising, then maddening, and now I just go into each match knowing I’m probably picking first.

None of this rules out RNG, but it seems plausible that there’s something else going on.

I have to place first like 99% of the time. I'm not even exaggerating, last season out of like 20 games I didn't have to place first a whole 1 time. Every 2 days I'd play 3 games and almost every time I'd place first.

I know it's still just RNG but damn does it suck.

I don’t always pick first for no reason. It’s over 90% of the time, RNG, nope.
