Start order in BG

Does anyone know how the start order in BG is determined? I have had to go first in almost 40(!) Straight matchups. Puts me at a big disadvantage. And seems somehow very weird, would expect it to be determined randomly, but then this would be statistically i possible i think

    Same here, had to place D first in the last round for like 30 straight matches, games just a pile of who knows why this or that works that way

    I’ve had to pick first every match this season… probably around 30:or so.

    At this point, with all the “I always have to pick first” posts, I’d venture to suggest that maybe Kabam *DID* make a change, following what was suggested by many, but that how it was implemented (partially) leads to confusion, etc.

    Common Suggestion over the past several months…
    Have BOTH players do their picks AT THE SAME TIME.

    Potential partial implementation (maybe it was done as below ?)…
    Maybe Kabam *did* make it so both players are picking at the same time.
    But how they maybe did it results in both players THINKING they are picking first, when really both picks are being done at same time.
    Then, after your pick (you thinking you are picking 1st), then the game shows you the other player (appearing to be picking 2nd) but in reality it is just SHOWING you the course of what the other player HAD ALREADY PICKED at the same time you were.
    The back-n-forth is just VISUAL, but in reality both players are picking at the same time.
    ??????

    Are there still people who actually are picking 2nd ?? Or is everyone picking 1st ??

    Yeah and besides that, picks in the first, second or third round are definitely not being done simultaneously

    I send a ticket in to kabam and the service is just laughable and abominable! They say things like thanks for reaching out, please let us know if we can assist you in any way, and then we are not able to do anything at the time. So basically they tell you to shove it. @Kabam Miike this is now way to treat a paying customer. Your support department says the order is generated randomly, but won’t go into details in fear of “exploitation”. Well I have started every single match this season, over 60+ now. They chances of that happening with a random 50/50 decider are in the trillions. Do the math yourself. There is no way I and many others, cause i’ve seen a lot more posts like this since i looked into it the past 2 days, are that unlucky. You either don’t care to fix it, or you are too incompetent to fix it and not willing to admit either. Really disappointing service.

    Well i am a customers and they say contact us if you need help etc.. Their explanation was it’s random. 70 straight starts has nothing to do with random. Just say “ we can’t tell you have we do it” instead of **** that it’s random because it cannot be

    I'm pretty sure support is a completely different department than what Miike runs. Either way, support doesn't have the answer to every question, so you should be grateful they're telling you they don't have an answer rather than lying to you and giving you a fake answer.

    Who cares if you're a customer. I've not seen one company that genuinely gives a **** when a customer says "I am a paying customer and I'm entitled to ( )" if they don't want to give you an explanation they don't have to and it's likely support doesn't even know. Only the designers would know. It is likely some form of random based on time queued. Live with it. You're not the only person it happens to and you are entitled to nothing

    Almost halfway through the season and I've picked second once. In almost 60 games. I've tried pikolu's suggestion of canceling unless I get a match in 1-2 seconds, no luck. I've tried using energy and elder marks, in sequences. I've tried forfeiting matches. I'm just locked in to picking first.

    I can not imagine this is intentional, there is nothing to gain from handicapping a random set of players. The team could at least make an announcement on why this is happening.

    I usually get a string of picking first then a string of picking second. I genuinely think it has something to do with queue time

    I have 3 accounts.

    The 4.8m seem to pick second 75% of the time.

    The 3m and 1m accounts, I think it’s about 50/50 split. I have never encounter a long streak where I would pick first.

    I wonder if deck strength or roster size (top 30 champion strength) is determining who goes first. Could be a factor to consider when seeing who places first or not.

    Ahmynuts, if that’s the way you want to run your business go ahead. I do it differently. I don’t feel I’m entitled to anything in particular, but i do think think you should treat customers and players with respect. I don’t see that from Kabam and i voice that opinion. Whatever they decide to do with it (including ignoring it) is up to them. I know I’m not the only person it’s happened to that is actually why i raise the issue. It isn’t fair to those who experience it in my opinion and if nobody says anything it sure as hell isn’t getting fixed.

    This switch up needs to be studied by scientists around the world

    Whatever it is, the team should at least make an announcement on this. There are paying customers in the game, if some players have to play with a hidden penalty (even if it is unintentional and even if the handicap is minor), at the minimum they have a right to know.

    There is a simple solution, team makes an announcement that either the ordering system is bugged or that there is nothing to see here other than some players being extremely unlucky.

    This has been going one for a few days now. One forum post is not too much to ask, especially for a mode which gets so much attention and likely is a key revenue generator.

    I don’t believe it’s roster strength. I have seen matchup with smaller accounts and I pick first.

    I prefer picking first on many occasions, so I can dictate matchups.
    There have been instances when I get to 3rd round and I place 2nd and wanted to place first, just to force the matchups I want.
    There have also been instances where I would've 90% sure lost the 3rd round if I didn't place 2nd.

    Imo, the strength of your draft relative to your opponent is what decides the result more often than placement order.

    I've been playing for 3 hours and I have picked 1st every damn match. Every time I sit and play it is the same over and over.

    I too have picked first everytime in the last 20+ matches, which includes placing my defence first.
    In that time I've gone from Diamond 3 to Vibramium 3.

    I've fought a varierty of summoners both high and lower than me.

    I don't believe this is random. There is some factor affecting the order that I'm unware of.
    * My win/loss ratio is around 70%
    * I've always used Elder Marks this season
    * I press that Accept match button with my left index finger

    This isn’t random. Go take a coin and flip it 50 times. Tell me how many times you get heads all 50 times.

    I just want to know what the determining factors are, because it sure isn’t RNG.

    This season I’ve played 50 matches. 45 of them I’ve placed first. That’s insanely high compared to normal seasons and what “should” be possible with the normal 50/50 rng. Something is up @Kabam Miike whats going on here?
