BG progression nigh impossible

CuchulainnCuchulainn Member Posts: 116
Reached Diamond 1 couple of days ago. I've won 2 fights out of about 20 since.
Ridiculous matchmaking.
90% of my opponents champs have a higher PI than my top champ.
I've had some where even their lowest was higher than my top camp.
Impossible to make any progress.
Running my own Alliance and for the first time I feel like quitting the game.

… 100% of the time 50% of players will lose.

    […]

To climb and be considered among the best, you must beat the best.

    Yeah, just what Kabam said.

I get the comments re: reaching limit etc but I suppose I'm mostly confused about the other accounts. How is it there's not more at a similar roster level? I find it hard to believe I'm the weakest roster in D1. I was fighting against UC accounts in Plat.

Oh, you‘re Diamond I? That’s already quite high for a small account, congrats. Maybe we‘ll meet soon when I continue my streak.

Your account hit the progression limit man, can't go higher unless you upgrade.

I can‘t complain, waiting 2 weeks until all the Freaks grinded their way to 450k (Titan Shards) Milestone really payed off.

Half my enemies forfeit when they see my Deck full of 7* Base - R2 or 6* R4 - R5 ascended.

    (Platinum I - Diamond IV)

You are a whale sir. You are the one everyone is complaining about by waiting and getting easy wins against noobs.

I‘m not a Whale, I‘ve spent probably less than 100$ this whole year (just the Passes for Morbius, a 10$ Heal Pack and other minor things). I always ignore majority of 4th July/Cyber Week deals as well.

But I‘m playing since 2018 almost every single day earning all the stuff from Events and Story, so I have a pretty advanced account (3.2 million total rating).

Tho I was super lazy/busy in real life and just became Paragon this year during Legend‘s Event (had like 3x the necessary R4s, but never finished Act 7).

But I agree, facing opponents like me in Platinum/Diamond and getting stomped hard is one reason for all these BG complaint threads. It‘s okay to focus on other content tho (Carina 7 for 7, Act 8.3 exploration, monthly EQ/SQ) … so I got even stronger to do BG Season now. I‘m not loosing on purpose (I’m not loosing at all lol) … so that’s legit.

This is just sad, boasting about your 7* R2 6* R5 yet waiting cowardly to beat weaker players! LMAO

You want advice? Here’s advice. It doesn’t matter your pi. What matters is your skill. I’ve been the severe underdog in all my bg matches and getting the short end of the stick by placing defenders first constantly, but somehow I’m Vibranium II and I thank god.

Arrange your guys and gals accordingly. Get some outrageous defenders like Abs or Aarkus up and go have fun dude.

So feel good you made it that far. You cannot keep matching equal rosters as you climb the ladder.

Actually, it is more precise to say that he hit his limit at the moment. All those strong accounts that are beating him in D1 aren’t going to be there in a few days, because they are going to promote to V3. There’s still about thirteen days left in the season, almost half a season. You don’t know how high you can go until literally the last day. There have been seasons where I’ve been stuck in Vibranium unable to promote, and then with one or two days left I blast through to GC because all the accounts that were beating me promoted.

To the OP, @Cuchulainn, right now you are facing everyone who is trying to get to GC, as you should be just like everyone else. If you have a weaker roster, most of them will be stronger than you. But tomorrow, the competition will be weaker, because most the strongest of them will promote upward. And the next day the competition will be weaker again. At some point, you should see the competition get weak enough to see a noticeable difference in your match opponents’ strength. You just need to keep playing occasionally and see when it shifts enough. If it never does, that just means you did in fact hit your ceiling, but almost no one hits their ceiling in the first two weeks of the season. My recommendation is go for milestones every two days, and keep an eye on how strong the competition is. You still have time.

Aarkus? Say more. My 7* is on the bench this season.

He's a tricky defender you need specific counters for.

Very true. I'm up to ~400k and got the 7☆ shards so I'll leave it for a few days and come back. Thanks for that.

Are you sure about that? If it weren't a skill issue you wouldn't be 2-18, regardless of roster.

Yes I am. A lot of the matches are very close. Its about being totally outgunned against relativity similarly skilled rosters. But moreso its about "where is everyone else" with rosters similar to mine.

Thinking you're on the same level or better than those who have progressed further than you is the type of attitude that keeps people from getting better.

People of your size are littered all thought the VT and GC, just like those who have bigger rosters and those who have smaller rosters.

What are you on about? I don't think I'm better. I'm confused that I'm not running into all the other accounts ts you say are "littered".

I'm up in Diamond. 50% of the accounts I've beaten were stronger accounts. When skills are equal, the strongest roster wins.

There are certain points that there are stronger competitors. I've been in Vibranium 3 for a couple days now. There's still 2 weeks left, so all we can do is keep trying.

You have two options, force yourself to keep playing until you win more than you lose, or give it up for a few days until some easier matchups make it into your rank. From personal experience, you're better off waiting a few days. While you WILL have to suck it up at some point and get used to punching up against stronger accounts, every few days enough fresh meat tends to rank up that you just might get lucky and get a few easier matches in a row.
