Will we be able to gift consumable items to our friends/ally mates in the banquet event?

Nothing has been said about it in the “Banquet brief overview” section. Last time we were able to gift such items as far as I remember.

Last year was said to be the last time we could gift in the holiday event so very unlikely.

I asked this question the other day, and it seems like it won't be happening.
Perhaps @Kabam Jax or @Kabam Miike might be so kind as to give us some clarification on this.
