Hot take, I'm actually super glad the Banquet event is a bit underwhelming.

3 Reasons:

Reason 1) By not just blowing the economy out the wazu, it shows, at least to me that Kabam believes the game will last for quit some time in the future and doesn't feel the urgency to get as much cash as they can before the imminent colapse of the game. This is good!

Reason 2) It really does feel like there starting to put titles and account progression behind skill and content again rather than a monetized milking fiesta.

Reason 3) I just spent 12 dollars yesterday on 4 cucumbers, my rent went from 895 to 1,845 dollars in 3 years and honestly, it feels like I've been on the cusp of total and complete bankruptcy for the last 2 years (which is crazy considering my wife and make somewhat decent salaries). After whaling out on cyber-weekend, Christmas coming up and and the Poop show of heating in the winter months, a break from spending is honestly fine.

I wouldn’t even say it’s a hot take. July 4th caused unrealistic expectations, I still on have 1 r5 that I used catalysts on and I’ve done all content. But u could buy like 6 r5 6 months ago lol.

Someone will have to explain to me how 6 star R5 and 7 star R2 rank ups “blows the economy out of the wazu” when you face these rosters in victory track all the time. If you get to 1% rank rewards… you get 1 4-5 gem… and 1/3 of a 7 star.

This isn’t a fear of blowing up the economy… this is just straight up telling paragon+ players you don’t get a banquet event this year provided you care at all about unit value.

People continue to be oblivious of the massive chasm between necropolis exploration rewards and rewards in the banquet…. And just pretend if Kabam did anything more that what they have posted it would be gamebreaking and make necropolis obsolete. It’s honestly baffling.

Ehh honestly whatever, this Banquet will turn out to be least successful, Kabam will earn less holidays money and then they will hotshot the next Major deal, I bet that they will introduce 7r4 before July 4th.

I used it on domino, I meant only 1 of my r5 is ranked from catalyst use, that’s the hardest thing to get for me.

I would agree with this take more if they didnt already blow up the economy with july 4th deals. They dont even give enough t6b and t3 alpha to rank 4 a champ from solo milestones

4th of July offers are at least Progression locked while the Banquet is not (once you qualify).

So there is at least the semblance of economy control with 4th of July and Cyber Weekend where a Cavalier isn't able to buy their way to get Paragon+ level rewards, while in the Banquet a Cavalier has the same spending power as Paragon+.

The sore spot for me (and I am sure others as well) is this event is the most unit friendly of the year. I spend on this game.. but not a whale. I tend to spend in areas where unit accumulation makes sense in addition to other things. I grind arena milestones, objectives, etc.

It’s just ….. strangely convenient that an event that has been so popular in the past will be the worst value of the year for those players who didn’t/couldn’t break the bank when the July 4th deals went off the rails. So now 6 months later… we get essentially a thronebreaker banquet event to try to stay in the same hemisphere of those accounts far beyond us with rosters full of 6 star R5’s and 7 star R2’s? 🤨

That is a very good point. Again, all of this is very fair. Hopefully you guys get something good soon, but I would very much recommend a run of necropolis if you’ve got the units. The rewards for exploration as well as the death rewards on the 15th are gonna more than make up for these lackluster ones.

Completion run is complete. Not blessed with a 7 star shuri or Wong. R4 Aegon run was pretty painful for me unit wise. 5 more paths where he isn’t always ideal - even if I get him to R5 and ascended with path rewards eventually seems like I am forcing a square peg in a round hole… all because, well… units for paragon+ aren’t valuable anymore? Their value is just to plow through content haphazardly as fast as possible? I mean - maybe that is the case and where Kabam is heading.
