It’s basically hypocrisy at the highest level, Kabam has never been afraid to milk who ever they wanted, we have seen it for years. For this specific event they are saying we can’t give away the farm so we are giving you last years farm, but basically they are going to milk the top 90 whales and thronebreaker and lower. The excuses is that they don’t want eveyone to have R3 materials as it will lead to 8*s at the same time the rewards in the milestones are for 6* stuff and almost the same as last year. It’s the worst excuse and totally false because they could have easily thrown some 6* R5 rank up gems, more 6* selectors as well as more 6* R5 materials and 7* R2 materials w/o effecting the economy of the game at all, if they were afraid it would advance lower players a bit to fast they could have gated some of the rewards for progression purposes. Basically the made a useless 2 week event for a large portion of players that probably would have spent as well and the are just telling people go do Necropolis and soak in a cold bath. Well some people have done Necropolis and some people don’t care about necropolis and just want to get more 6* R5s or new 7*s with R2 materials,
As a side note: As an older player my hand eye coordination isn’t what it used to be so I don’t get to long form content for a while because it takes me forever but never had a problem spending some money if it was worth it. It is disrespectful how this event is being handled because it could have easily been done to be more inclusive, fun 2 WEEK event for everyone at the same time accomplish the goals of making more money for Kabam and not giving away the farm

There is essentially 24 pages of posts trying to say this 100% but I’ve not seen many that have explained the problem with the event as well as you have.

Indeed. Go check any content creator account. A couple more 7 R2’s and 6R5’s isn’t breaking the game for them or any other July 4th account. A meaningful unit spend for lesser accounts accumulating such things isn’t breaking the game either. With any luck, you may be able to get roster to explore necropolis. Instead - the gap just keeps getting wider and wider.
When the flagship game mode is Battlegrounds - the theory may be to drive people to spend more to keep up. But what is actually happening is what happened this season, everyone bails but the highest accounts and the majority of accounts are wasting their time even trying to get to GC.
If - as others have speculated- the goal to fix the game economy, you need to cap the top end and give opportunities for guppies and unit grinders to rise. The top end players still covet R2’s and R5’s. Instead - as implemented, the top end spenders can keep dusting everyone else while the rest of the player base is capped. You can’t nerf the best unit event in the calendar year and pretend you didn’t do just that.
I am curious what the reaction will be when the cash offers are released. I will anxiously await the reaction of those lauding the banquet event nerf if the rewards are substantially different than rank rewards and milestones.
I’ve 100% Necropolis, have 14.5k of units and wanted to spend a good portion of that on the banquet. I didnt spend on cyber week as it didn’t feel like good value for units for me. This is all been a disappointing. We don’t need gamebreaking, just a bit of value to give us something to look forward to. There will be a deal to buy 10 of the Banquet crystals at half the unit cost for real world money, I’ve brought it in previous years but no chance this year. Unless you are an Uber whale going for top 90 not sure who would want to spend money on this.

25 pages… Completely ghosted and a sad, sad event for the holidays. You don’t have to worry about stomping on Necropolis rewards… Act 7 rewards are more relevant.
@Kabam Miike the rewards for ranked rewards in alliance is wrong too 1 to 5 show a 5 star when it says it a 6 stars in h this post any acknowledge would be nice
M'kay... reading this thread is a serious downer. It's enough to make someone think this game sucks hard. It's mostly higher level people complaining,, and yes, this event may not be great if you are Valiant, Paragon or Thronebreaker, but this game isn't just for you guys.
For those of us not at that high a level, it's been fun. After grinding for what seems like forever, I got enough T5 basic and class catalysts that I can finally rank up my 6*R1, R2 and R3 champs, as well as collect a few new 6* champs. Plus, millions in gold, the 5* and 6* awakening gems and duplicating a few 5* and 6* champs to awaken them has been great for me, and I'm sure so many others.
