4* ascended vs 5* rank 5

So I ascended my 4* Dr Doom a long time ago (I didn’t have any 5* I could rank at the time so it was a case of use it or lose it). I’ve now pulled a 5* Dr Doom and I’m wondering if it is worth putting in the resources to rank him up. I don’t intend to ascend this one so I’m guessing it may not be worth it but would value any opinions.

    You can theoretically make 5* doom thrice powerful than 4*.
    He helps you in the long run, also the more doom,the better.

    Ranking up 5* depends on your progression lvl & your 6* roster, My first 2 6* were Stryfe & Sorcerer Supreme, they were my only 6* for months therefor I decided to invest in my 5* like Nimrod, CGR, Fury, Hulkling & Doom, those 5 champs made me a Thronebreaker & helped me to become a Paragon.
    I have ascended 5* Doom because I don't have him as 6* & it is easier to max sig him.
    You can see him nestles among r4 6* like Human Torch & Nimrod and r1 7* like Sauron & Gamora.

    That’s a really helpful graphic. Max sigs puts him at a big jump in my ascended 4* so it definitely looks worth it.
