Gifting Crystals

I see we have a timer on the crystals we have been gifted. Will we lose these crystals if we do not open them before the timer runs out?

Can someone please answer this question? Nobody seems to understand if the crystals themselves expire or just the sale of them. My alliance is in a saving week for SA, but we don’t want to lose our crystals.
