I don't understand the new SQ, HELP

Ok so at first I thought these were rifts but then I noticed you can't really see the rewards on the paths they're in chests. And the selector thingies , how am I supposed to choose a path when idk what's on it. I apologise if this sounds dumb but I'm really exhausted from the WOW abs man fight rn , I have some energy left that I wouldn't want to go to waste. I would really appreciate it if someone could just give me a brief summary of how this thing works thanks

if you click on those chests, there is a preview button. they are all selectors, path A has the least rewards, path E the most

Once you enter, you can tap on the chests of the paths and it'll show a preview of what is inside.
