Anyway, it doesn't matter because no way for us to push for every fight, we just do it for free rewards.
On a side note, I’m now looking for a non-AW alliance.
The changes Kabam took were minimal to address what my alliance and many others are experiencing. Don’t forget the fun fact that has been going on for way too long. The goal to increase difficulty - I support if reasonable snd AW can be challenging and fun.
Things we noticed our true practice round but trying to win with the changes is still unreal on some of the nodes and tactic defender combinations.
An interesting bug we’ve captured - L attacks in block not providing Prowess. I’ll add an example fight since many others were talked about in this thread already. Node 47 with Adam placed there has been common and even more crushing now with strategic bans. I watched a video if teammate who just could not get out of a loop to get enough Prowess to counter Indestructible, deal with Falter, and infamous AI broken record issues before dying. Another player goes in and the same thing snd both using tactic attackers. They also have to deal with Adam’s base kit - Unblockable - Power Gain were the highlights of his kit. Combined all of that and the tactics for both defense and attack - skills may not avoid the deaths.
7 stacks of Indestructible is too much. I could see 3/4. The holistic factors mentioned and oh yeah don’t forget - if the defenders are tactic - you have like a 50/50 luck and skill chance to Solo using non-tactic attackers. Corvus and Ghost stand out as proven non-tactic but on the right node and tactic defender combination.
This tactic has led to me saying - wow Crush second season was awesome. Crush season 1 was awesome compared to this new tactic. Its justified easily to hang up Top Tier AW despite the reward buff. I’ve played over 9 years and will support my alliance for the season. Likely wasting my time writing an reading forums to see if something comes out from Kabam. I’m anticipating suck it up buttercup - some trolling - but maybe its does somebody else some good. I’ve got some Masters seasons behind my belt so the will to walk away is easy from this game mode.
But those few xmagica defenders on each side have run havoc.
Just tier 5. This is not fun.
Lack of communication is still pretty awful. But I feel like they’re just trying to see what they can get away with.
Again I understand wanting to make AW more difficult, but this isn’t the way to do it. Test your difficulty ramps with the whole player base. Communicate. Be transparent. I’d say most alliances think this is a poorly designed tactic. It’s not us just complaining.
Maybe just sit back and take all of that in.
Been playing eight long years, spent way more than I probably should have.
You're making me want to quit outright.
AQ? Boring, but passable and entertaining. BGs? Not a fan, but some people are. You actually made the meta too easy this round and it's just an endless nuke fest.
War?...
I loved war. I used to be great at war. I was a good planner, I loved strategizing to beat bosses (Kang vs. Apoc boss enjoyer here!)
Then, out of NOWHERE, you decided we weren't spending enough money, I guess. Or something. Regardless, you decided wars needed to be extremely hard.
And hard they are.
But they're not just hard, I'm watching tier 1 alliances (Hey! That's me!) with deaths in the 70s, 80s, and higher because of this tactic.
It's horrible.
Last season's was bad too, but *eventually* workable. Once we figured out how to dex while rooted. I even took pride in being an Onslaught Hulkling boss killer. The only real different was that the attack tactic was useless.
Your solution was the make the defense tactic even worse just to make the attack tactic turn the fight from 'impossible without tactic' to 'some fights are harder than an Eternity of Pain' boss.
You messed up. And as a longtime stalwart who's held on forever hoping things would get better, I'm just about out of rope. I don't think I can do this anymore.
And just think of how many people aren't vocal. There's tons more just like me, feeling the strain and wondering if it's worth it at ALL.
Lemme tell you...your vision is not your players' vision. It hasn't been for several months. Maybe it's time to reevaluate. Don't just fix the tactic-fix YOUR tactics.
Dark Souls is considered one of the most difficult, yet most fun, video games of all time. It mixes difficulty with strategy in a way that is both challenging and extremely entertaining, not to mention exhilarating when you defeat the bosses.
This game is not only harder than Dark Souls right now, it costs you resources to try again and winning doesn't even necessarily give you a meaningful reward. Dark Souls players themselves would be baffled by fights that require a similar amount of planning, dancing, and weaving, and then note that even then, you might not have the RNG to even get the champion required or get the AI to behave the way you need it to.
This game has reached beyond Dark Souls levels of difficulty, but with none of the payoff.
