8.2.2 Red Skull after buff

OrtounOrtoun Member Posts: 887 ★★★★
I realize that with the exception of everest content that when a champ is buffed that we get the new version in quests, but it seems like they should make exceptions for times when the buff directly conflicts with the path nodes. By adding nulify/fateseal/stagger immunity to Red Skull, there is no way to take advantage of the path nodes anymore, making the path significantly more difficult, especially considering the number of armor ups that he gets in this fight.

There is also a power manipulation immunity node, but the top 2 are most relevant.

Not really sure what I am expecting, but maybe going forward they can reevaluate the locations where a newly buffed champion appears, to see if the fight still makes sense, and possibly replace them if necessary.

Based on the view of buffed gladiator(beta builds (yt)) , Probabaly he is gonna be good counter for red skull.
Cause he's having armor ability reduction(AAR) based on sig level he has.

I could be wrong, but I thought they removed Bishop from a node when he was buffed due to a similar reason.

Right now, I think Corvus is the only reasonable option for this fight. Just is annoying to bring him along for 1 fight. Like I said, I don't really expect them to do anything about it, but would be nice if as part of the buff process they evaluate the locations/nodes where the champion currently exists and make changes as necessary to avoid overly limiting fights like this.

Why doesn't Venompool works? Galan can work too if you slowplay. What about neutralize champs? Tigra wiccan and rintrah works always. Also you can always herc him.He ain't that bad lol.

I just did that fight like an hour ago, rintrah can work, still painful and take some damage, but doable, so I would assume other neutralize champ should work too.

I tried venompool, but at most you remove 3 armors per special 1. He is gaining 10+ per special 1, a single accidental hit into block after a couple combos does 20k+, with that many armors his attack is insane so anything blocked does insane chip damage.
I honestly completely forgot about Galan, who is honestly a better option then corvus.
Rintrah somewhat relies on hitting into block so isn't great. The other neutralize champs are probably fine, but they still don't play into the node. I'm sure I will get through it next run, my point was more that they gave no consideration into how the buff completely changed the difficulty of that fight beyond what they probably intended, and that maybe they should have some consideration of that in the future.

Would a max sig namor just absolutely cook that red skull?

Obviously don't purposefully hit his block with rintrah, it's long but still easily doable. And what do you mean they don't play into the node, you'll get the permanent fury if you prevent buff with neutralize. But yeah, I agree that the buff definitely make it a lot harder than they probably originally intended

Yeah, you are right, reading comprehension ftw. Just did it with Galan, fight is doable, just very different then what it was originally designed to be.

Not sure about Bishop, but they definitely removed Ghost Rider from a "Pleasure to Burn" node when they gave him Incinerate immunity; since he became an impossible roadblock.

It does seem like something they should build into the buff process. I’m curious how the Mr. Sinister buff will impact 6.2.2. That fight has been a notable one forever.

He's probably getting tuned up offensively mainly so I doubt anything will change defensively. Sinister is already a solid defender if you don't have a counter (also according to Miike no more 5/5 defenders after Dust and Serpent) so I don't see them doing anything to him defensively same way they did with Red Skull.

    Can Ronan do this fight?

...no, he'd have a terrible time

I thought Red Skull's stun chance reduction was only for Parry

    Hmm...

Galan works. Just play it slow, heavy counter after sp1 straight into another special to activate harvest. Rinse and repeat a few times.

They have replaced a lot of Red Skulls with other champions. One that I remember is the Red Skull in the Cerastes quest, which got replaced by an infamous iron man. That felt annoying at first but Red skull is genuinely difficult after the buff. So it's alright.

Venompool or Galan should be able to counter him
