AI for Champs that Throw Specials into Block

Why is it that when we use champs that aren’t supposed to throw a special into the block the AI is super human and can parry their specials but if it’s Masacre, Hulkling, Valk, or the Serpent the AI is an expert face blocker? Often sprinting into special and forget that they even have skill of blocking.

Sounds like you don't know how to use any of them cause all you have to do is wait for a split second after ending a combo and throw the special, defender will always block it unless you get the timing wrong.

Yeah I use that, but more I just find the juxtaposition bizarre because say I knock down somebody with a heavy and throw a special into the ether they are gonna block it 99 times out of 100. But try that with Massacre and they are more likely to face block 99x out of 100.

When you knock them down the timing changes completely and it's harder to get it right. It's not an AI issue it's probably just the timing. When you throw a special or a heavy and the defender is cornered they will always go for a dash immediately as soon as they get up regardless of which champs you're using (unless you dash in first)

What I usually do to make AI hold block for long time.

"Hold my own block, let enemy dash in, at the last moment dex out."

It has almost 90% chance that AI will go back and hold block.

(Don't try with Venom, his AI is hard coded to throw 3-5 hits in every attempt)

I actually agree with you, AI tends to block normal champions and takes many hits on the face instead of blocking against pierce champs (valkyrie for me), if I throw a random sp on a champs blocks, 90% of the time it will block, against valk the odds are very low and he just stands still, could be in our heads too tbh 🤣, but that's how I feel

Nothing against you, but I use those champs (minus masacre) daily, and I don't have an issue hitting into their block.

I’ve noticed a HUGE difference in the A.I when it comes to blocked specials. Usually throwing a special into the enemy block resulted in an automatic counter attack, especially if they were cornered. There have been more than a few occasions recently where even after the special has ended they have continued to block rather than exploit an easy opportunity to land a few hits on my defenceless champ. I know that wasn’t the point of the original post but when Kabam say there is no difference I how the A.I behaves it’s very hard to believe.

It’s not an issue making it happen, just more an observation of how the AI interacts with those kits. 9/10 I’m getting the AI to put up that block. Just more interesting to me that techniques like the one I mentioned earlier also don’t work. Because if that’s say OG Iron Man that projectile after a parry heavy is guaranteed to be blocked.

I cant say i have noticed this in an a.i unless it’s a defender with an aggressive ai like venom or a wacky a.i like any fight in rol so i think it just depends on who you’re fighting but if you’re noticing this with defenders that a have pretty normal a.i it could be that your timing is a bit off sometimes when you do something repetitively you actually start to get less consistent at it
