Mister sinister taking damage from caltrops node

BullDOSRBullDOSR Member Posts: 28
I was attempting to use mister sinister on the domino fight with caltrops node and was killed by the bleeds! I assumed I’d be able to use them to my advantage with sinisters new buff but quickly found that didn’t work. Now I understand that the node inflicts direct damage but that is from the bleed debuff from caltrops itself. Mister sinister’s kit states he reduces bleed damage by 100% so theoretically the direct damage shouldn’t even take place since it stems from a bleed debuff and sinister is supposed to reduce that by 100%. Not sure if this is correctly working, a bug or if I’m just not understanding the nodes proper interaction here. @kabam Jax @kabam Miike

If it goes above 100% he will take bleed damage anyone that is 100% resist to debuffs if it goes above that 100% they take damage

Edit: no enhance node so it shouldnt be bleed are the whiplashes expiring by any chance u got a vid showing this or power sting damage from using special

No unfortunately i didn’t record and only attempted this fight with sinister the one time. There was a little, very small % of damage from the whiplash and a very small % from power sting coming from the 1 and only sp1 I threw. Almost all damage came from caltrops even though I was careful and tried to not have more then 2 since they do 50% of defenders attack rating which should have still been the 100% resist that sinister had.

I actually seemed to be taking more damage after I activated sinister vicious buff and started to gain his personal bleeds so maybe those were adding to the direct ones from caltrops I guess. Maybe that’s what was going on and caused the damage to exceed the 100%. But in sinisters kit there is no mention of the amount or potency of his personal bleed debuffs so hard to tell if they would actually raise the % above the 100% resist

It would have to be on her the vicious as the vicious applies to ur debuffs so somethings odd when u go for that fight again see if happens again

Actually, that's quite possibly the cause.

From the perspective of the game, Sinister was applying the bleeds by dashing back, so the Vicious probably did augment them. If Domino was inflicting bleeds offensively by hitting Sinister, that would be different.

Domino does reduce ability accuracy by 15% so could that be the cause? And if you had unlucky then it would reduce the ability by another 35%.

AAR does not impact bleed potency.
I think it's like someone said above the vicious and the caltrops bleed.
His personal bleeds deal 0 damage regardless of his 100% resistance. So vicious on himself doesn't do anything. However, bleed from caltrops have a certain potency, going above 40% with vicious.
Now it means vicious applies on both you and the opponent ? Like if you take hazard or face a poison champ, you'd take more damage because of your own vicious ?

I don't think so cos if you just duel Nick Fury, Sinister doesn't take and damage from his bleeds, with or without viscious passive

Well it's domino. She might have just gotten lucky, like always

I think the most likely explanation, if you are taking damage from caltrops bleeds, is that the vicious is applying to self-inflicted bleeds, and is counting caltrops. so the potency is 100% base - 100% from Sinister + 40% from Vicious for a net 40% damage. Probably a bug/oversight.

think the question is: does Caltrops count the trigger as Sinister applying the bleeds? and, if so, does it then apply his own Vicious effect to those bleeds? it wouldn't count Nick's, unless he scored his own Vicious (which would be ugly...).

then again, Sinister's Vicious doesn't touch his self-inflicted bleeds. has to be an interaction with Caltrops, as speculated above.

question is, bug or feature? will they keep it moving forward? there are already people ranking (ranked) Sinister who. kinda need to know that.

Same thing is happening with Lady Deathstrike vs that Domino. Isn't a problem with sinister, but probably Domino herself.
