I admit, I'm still baffled as to why a CANADIAN company runs events for AMERICAN Independence Day and not, y'know, CANADA DAY.

That's the limit of my caring/not caring about these events. Otherwise, I just think 'woo, free $h!t!'

I mean, if I ran a gaming company that had made a successful mobile game, I'd be doing events for St. George's Day, the King's official birthday and the end-of-year holidays and y'all be whinging wHy No BlAcK fRiDaY sTuFfS? and I'll be like, cuz that's American, we don't have Thanksgiving.

If you want a father's day event, just ask why there's not one. Why are you saying "if you do celebrate x, you should also celebrate y". Also you could also say, "There's a event for Christmas why there isn't one for father's day" yeah but y'all just hate pride month just admit it.

Not to nitpick, but Pride has always included those who are Allies. Now, the definition of an Ally has always been a subject of contention. Some people feel it's only those heterosexuals who march and take a political stand. I'm not as fundamentalist in my ideals. For me, an Ally is anyone who accepts us and supports the cause.
The spirit of Pride, however misconstrued, has always been about acceptance and inclusion. It saddens me to see that rejection can even take place in my community the same way racism can lead to racism on the other side, but humans be humin'.
Okay and what happens then with those that aren't allies? Cause I never said anything about allies I said "not everyone celebrates Pride" which is true, homophobes obviously don't celebrate Pride.
The idea that "not everyone is this or that therefore celebrating it or not celebrating it doesn't matter" is just wrong. Different people will celebrate different things and that's fine, diversity and cultural differences are fine. I'm not a Taoist or a Buddhist does that mean I have the right to say not everyone is Taoist or Buddhist therefore we shouldn't have a Lunar New Year event?

I don't really care about homophobes not wanting to celebrate it the same way I don't care about Nazis not wanting to acknowledge the Holocaust.

Crazy to think that this entire thread could have been avoided if Kabam just responded to the initial question before it got out of hand. Or just have a small event dedicated to dads (you know those people in our lives that sacrifice everything so that we could have a decent life)

If yes, then honestly I’m impressed that you’re able to communicate with the written word. Reading and writing must have been difficult skills for you to pick up.

For those reading along and getting ready to smack disagree again (lol I know you’ve already done it), bigotry is disliking a group of people for their race, faith, gender, sexual orientation, country of origin, or other characteristic that is generally considered immutable. A good rule of thumb is if they were born into it and it wasn’t a choice they made.

Nobody is born a bigot. A person becomes a bigot based on their behavior, i.e. unjustifiable hatred or an aversion towards a community for simply existing or being different. You are absolutely allowed to dislike a person based on their behaviors. That’s literally judging them by the content of their character, the one MLK quote the majority of people know.

Not only is it not hypocritical to say that you can’t tolerate bigots, it’s a moral imperative to do so. People who deal in hatred don’t get to wield tolerance as a shield when they get called out.

Pride celebration meets some agenda in corporate setup. My company does it too. It brings attention . Fathers day does not.
Anyway, why care what kabam celebrate or not. Its their game, can do whatever they want. If you don't like something, just ignore it and pretend it does not exist like I do.

Not everyone is a woman either. In a way I get where OP is coming from, the game celebrates women's Day, pride day/week among other events, but fatherhood is one of the most proud Moments of a man's life and is skipped over. That being said father's Day is also different days across the world leading to part of the issue.

As a dad, I logged into the game in the morning. Claimed my 4 hour crystal, finished up AW and then logged out. I put my phone down and enjoyed the day with my daughter. In the end, this is a mobile video game. I don't need Kabam to give out free stuff to validate what Father's Day means to me.

As for what they choose to base events/freebies around, it's their choice. We play their game after all. The fact this discussion is happening shows that we, as humans, have a long way to go. The day we can look at a same-sex couple walking down the street holding hands and just see two people, that'll be a wonderful day. When we can see a black guy or latina woman in the store and just see a Michael or Rosa, that would be a wonderful day.

Somebody in this thread mentioned Morgan Freeman (apologize for not scrolling back up to mention you). He said something along the lines of racism will always be around so long as we talk about it. He got a lot of flack for saying it, but it goes to what I mentioned earlier. When we describe people by the color of their skin or who they choose to be in a relationship with, then we still have a problem.

Hence, my next suggestion - just plan a small event or even a gift. It doesn't have to be huge, it doesn't have to overshadow the pride event after all the pride event is definitely a much bigger deal than fathers day is, but something as small as a 4* version of ant-man would have been a nice gesture. But thanks for correcting me - it is indeed the weekend, but that was not my point.
