Who should I rank 3?

I normally am not indecisive over rank ups, but I don't have a rank 3 tech champion currently and am unsure who to take up. I have 3 candidates I'm willing to rank: Iron Man (sig 20), Peni Parker (unawakened) and Ironheart (unawakened).

I have never seen rank 3 gameplay of Peni Parker and she's the one I'm leaning towards most, but I'm still undecided especially without seeing what she can do. They've also all got questions surrounding them - Iron Man deals so much damage he seems like he doesn't need the additional rank, Peni seems to no longer be a useful defender (but seems pretty good on offence) and I've not had Ironheart long enough to form an opinion on how good she is but I enjoy playing her. Anyone's thoughts on each champion if they've got them ranked up would be helpful so I can make a decision. Before people ask if I've got other options, I only rank champions I enjoy playing which leaves these 3 as my candidates.

    Yeah he is insane especially with the 6 star green goblin relic increasing his armour breaks' durations, decreasing the opponent's special attacks damage even further AND enhancing his regen :o

    If you’re BGs focused, my vote is for peni, she’s pretty underrated both on attack and defense. She hits fairly hard on attack but nothing crazy, you ideally want to kill in an sp1 sp2 rotation and at r2 that’s about 250k damage without class advantage. It’s a decent chunk, but plenty of defenders will survive that. At r3 idk how her rotation will do but she’d definitely cover a fair bit more ground on attack than the r2.

    She also gets overlooked quite a bit on defense nowadays. She gets hard countered by Hulkling and Galan, but people don’t run him unless he’s an mvp for the meta, where he’s ban worthy. Hulkling everyone runs, but that’s just one champ. There’s a very good chance they don’t draft him, and even if they do, you can use her on attack. And if they don’t, she’s in my experience an instant round win. They either waste 30 seconds taking down her shield, or they risk it and try to nuke, but that almost never works.

    She’s been a total mvp for me, really want to dupe her so I can counter NF, but she’s still great without it.

    Why do you need people to tell you how to upgrade your roster?

    Yea she’s been pretty solid for me. I expect she probably gains a lot of benefit from the r3 since it’ll
    make her shield even tankier, and allow you to take more champs in just sp1 sp2. I also don’t have a very good sentinel relic, so that 250k rotation I was taking about was with a 3* or 4* relic.

    I partially agree. Valiants and Paragons asking "whom should I rank up" is genuinely dumb. If you have come this far along in the game, you should ideally be able to understand the needs of your roster. I am completely on-board with TBs and below asking for rank up advice, but Paragons and Valiants usually do it to fish for validation lol, i.e. they don't need the advice and they don't care for it. It gets annoying after a point when seasoned players go "um ackshually do I rank up hulkling or cgr". Its YOUR roster, you know it better. You know what content you wish to clear - so use your in-game knowledge and decide for yourself.

    Introduction of 7* Venom, Vox and 24/7 Hulkling in BG decks have hurt Penny a lot, she's a potato in these matchups and additional rank up won't help at all as many have 7r3 Venom Vox already

    I'll say go either Ironman or Ironheart, Ironheart needs rankup for damage to go insane

    Bro don't mind if you are Valiant then you should know by this point, what your roster lacks and what you need and what content will be your priority now . I assume Bgs at this point. And in Bgs you know which of these champs would be good defender or attacker. And if you know if you need attacker or defender, choose accordingly.

    I know many folks who are TB can get confuse or want to maximise thier rank up potentials but seeing Late Paragons and Valiants making post about obvious rank up choices just feels complete givemeaflexrating post

    Sorry if someone gets hurt by this but any sane person would get my point

    Everything is right except here the rank up choice isn't obvious.

    Op likes peni and she's a duel threat. Ironman has the best damage out of three. Ironheart has best utility out of three. So it's completely normal to be confused

    Also you made this post 2 years ago and at that time you already had a r4 which means you're near endgame player at that time, Still you cannot decide who's the "obvious rank up choice"? Maybe a givemeaflexrating post?

    Thank you to everyone who responded, I don’t use the forums a whole lot so appreciate everyone’s feedback and I’ll make a decision over the coming days as I’m chilling out on holiday at the moment so the game’s taken a backseat.

    I probably play the game differently to a lot of people - I don’t rank up for roster synergy or how good a champion is, I just rank characters I either like from existing media or enjoy playing and it’s worked out fine. I never care about trolls (and I enjoy reading their comments so normally don’t bother responding) but in this case I’m not really sure what can be construed as “flexing” considering I didn’t mention or show any of my actual roster bar these 3 champions (not even saying their ranks) and tried to ask my question in a way as civil as possible. If I can learn more about these champions from people who know more than I do then it helps me to not waste my resources and simultaneously grow as a player. If a champion I like is good, then great. If a champion I like is bad, then oh well I’ll learn how to use them. But in this case I like playing them all equally and they have different things going for them, all of which my roster could benefit from (thank you captain_rogers for summarising this perfectly).

    Furthermore, if I’d simply asked “who should I rank” instead of “who should I rank 3” would the negative comments be different? Because people assume a valiant player knows everything? I’m not naive enough to think that and everyone still has more to learn. Someone with an existing rank 3 of the champions I mentioned will know how to use them more than I do, and that’s kind of who I was pitching to in the first place but everyone’s feedback is welcomed. Anyone who read the first sentence of my post would see I never normally have rank up questions but in this case I believe it’s warranted based on the context of the champions.

    This post has clearly derailed into something not intended but thought I’d just say thank you to the people who took time out of their day to help me with my dilemma, I appreciate all of you ✌️.

    No need for apologies based on the insecure and immature of the lot. Experience at the game doesn't tell you anything about how a champ scales (or doesn't) from rank to rank, and t4as/2-3 gems aren't quite falling from the skies just yet.

    As I said that if he knew what his roster lacks he should make that rank up. I answered his question by questioning his nature of rank ups or generally what roster based rank up means.

    Now coming to my 2 year old post.
    First of all my account was not that stacked at that time and it was semi rushed. If you had such time to dig through my old posts then you might have noticed that I have only asked 3-4 times for rank up adviced and the one which you are highlighted is only 1 which was at the stage of end game and before that when I was at early game. My all other posts were either whom I have ranked up or about the fights I wanted to tackle or pulls or bugs.

    As I proceeded in late game, I never did. My post was here due to prestige ranking as it was for alliance and as well Apoc was top of game at that time and I had solo content and options were equal important
    The end game 2 years vs now is totally different.
    Now when players reach that point, especially after valiant, experience good enough for one what he/she lacks in roster. As I referred I stated what kind of problem he facing and if he knew he should use his necessity as question and do needful

    I have seen many posts lately where answer is obvious but still people just asking the same.

    You, Wendy ( or bendy is name ) and 1 other guy have targeted me since my necro post where I had an issue due to bug and doom herc interaction which I faced and some other players too. So Dig deep and come at me bro. Good luck 😁😁😁👍👍👍👍

    No, sometimes you just want a second opinion, whats up with you lot and being insecure about others asking for help.
    Some of y'all learnt the meaning of insecure and haven't shut up since. If you are a valiant what do you need a second opinion for exactly? What good is a stranger's second opinion (especially when they have no idea about what the rest of your roster looks like) going to do? Stop throwing "insecure" around.

    Needs? No. Wants? Absolutely. I myself have made a post on 4 of my r3s, because they are important rankups for my account, it’s the highest rank in the game. I have horrible indecision as a person, so I like to hear second opinions to help sway me to one side or another. There is no clear cut ranking of every champ from best to worst, there’s a lot more nuance to it, which can be solved through discussion. If it were very clear cut, this game would be pretty boring.

    I have seen mysterium players ask for a poll on their next rankup in YT streams, and mysterium players are top 800 in all of battlegrounds. There’s no shame in asking for help or advice even if you’re the best player in the game, we all have our moments of indecision.
