Why isn't Shathra a Serpent counter

Shathra has all burst damage which serpent reduces by 60%. With Serpent not getting rebalanced I thought we were getting some Serepent counters and now they are wasting mystic releases like this. I am telling you the next mystic and the next one also won't counter Serpent. What a joke that kabam is playing with us.

After all the complaints about tthe Serpernt rebalance. Shathra should have been a Serpent counter. They "Shathra the bed" on this one.

But serpent is only a huge problem in bg lmao. If you can take your time I’d just bring Chavez and Kushala and do it, the issue is that he stalls for way too long outside of that

If only her damage wasn't burst, although it could be that it isn't burst and it's dot that only triggers while she's throwing a special. If it is dot and not burst then there might be some hope, we will see tomorrow or whenever her deep dive drops.

Shatra and the other guy seem like good attackers. Can't say too much until they come in the game but I'm hoping the rest of the champions released this year are BG focused or strong attackers in general that don't take 50 years to ramp. Praying that dazzler meets these criterias 😁

Dazzler and Spiral should both be beasts on attack I hope they don't absolutely gut them and we receive more "trash for BGs good for everything else" champs cause I'm seriously sick of those.

True but Maestro's buffs eventually become passives, so he's eventually safe against most mystics.

Yeah it's weird cause when you see a burst of damage you don't normally see multiple red numbers pop up like that, in the video those red numbers are popping up every second which leads me to believe it might be dot and not burst.
If it is dot then she could potentially be THE best Serpent counter, she won't be able to deal the death immunity or the pierce bs and all that but the power steal and atrophy will alleviate a lot of the bs Serpent has. More than Chavez or Kushala, we'll see I suppose, looks promising if it's dot but I don't want to make up my mind just yet cause that has led to disappointment most of this year.

You literally said every attacker this year EXCEPT for two are for bg. Meaning it goes with my point, not all are made for bg in mind.

Also just because a champ works for battleground doesn’t mean the team intended purpose for the champ was battleground.

I would think that her atrophy alone would make her a decent counter, similar to Kindred.

Not every champ needs to be bg in mind and as for this year and every year since battlegrounds release has had a hand full of champs that are decent or great for bg. So there are no cases of a single year where all champs sucked for battleground.

You see any of them in nearly every deck the way you see Hulkling and other meta relevant ones in nearly every deck? Cause I haven't seen that many White Tigers and Prowlers and they're the best we've had this year. What does that tell you?

The reason that argument makes no sense is because that has already been the case this year. When you say "not every champ has to be BGs focused" you're making it sound like most champs this year have been BGs focused which they haven't. The last strong attacker for BGs that truly became meta relevant was Kushala and that was 9 months ago, we haven't had a single strong attackers that became meta relevant this year not even White Tiger and Prowler, they're good sure but they're not that good.

Also, you say every year has had a handful of champs that are good in BGs yet out of the 16 new releases this year, only 2 are decent attackers and even then they're not even close to being meta relevant. How are you going to tell me that not all champs should be BGs focused when out of 16 only 2 are good? Especially compared to the 8 good ones we got in 2023 and the 9 good ones we got in 2022. We're 9 months into 2024 and we're not even close to half the amount of good attackers we received in 2022 and 2023, if you can't see how that's a bad thing I don't know what to tell you, get well soon I guess.
