Just pulled North Star, is he the worst pull?

Everyone on YouTube says he’s pretty much pointless but I have literally no experience with him.

Is he that bad? OMG!!! Pulled him a few days ago from the titan...lol. hoping for a bufffff

Personally I don't like playing speedsters, messes up my combo timing...

Besides him being weakling, he's also boring

Ultimately, if you enjoy playing with him, he's a good pull - try him out yourself in long-form content. That's what he's for, not places like BGs

And don't rush to judgment - he's yet to go through rebalancing. The rebalancing program is a bit unpredictable; but can be great from time to time.

As with many champs a slight tweak could make him pretty good. If his pauses to his ramp from the sp1 were extended a little it would be so stressful to get back to his sp2.

Crazy good in the crit me meta on defense, but otherwise- he just takes way too long to punch up; so he really only shines in endgame content.

I got to be honest, and thank you for posting everyone but he’s just not for me. I’m not a fan of speedsters in general (after playing for 9 years, their combos always disrupt my groove) and personally I usually do the Everest content for at least a path but getting a champ that specializes in content that gets updated once every 2-4 years is just not my thing. I’m more of a BGs and Event guy at this point so unfortunately he was probably the worst pull for me, but whatever I guess, I’m 0 in 9 titan crystals, literally not one since there inception have I gotten anything I’ve wanted out of them (not to say the champs
I’ve gotten are bad by any means but just not any that I was going for).

How many of the people posting opinions here have actually used the champion?

OP, I pulled him from a Titan about a month ago and I like him. He doesn’t require nearly as much ramp up as people are saying here, and while he isn’t exactly bursting with utility, what he does have is useful. And his damage output is genuinely incredible.

His ideal rotation is to build just below an sp3, and activate his speed burst with an sp2 right after dashing in. Fire off an sp1 shortly thereafter and it’ll pause all the bonuses the sp2 gave you while giving you a few more. Most fights are over at this point anyway. If not, you just gotta bounce between those two as necessary. The more crits you land on your sp1, the longer the pause you get is. That’s why I recommend a crit rating stat focus. Gambit relic also goes hard for him. Play around a bit and see how you like him, I hope this helps!

    Finally. A sensible response!

In answer to your leading question, I’m going to go ahead and assume none have, and if they have, they’ve drawn their conclusion in a test against a particular WS.

His damage is indeed good after he’s ramped but the problem is that you have to ramp him every single fight. Plus there’s no way to refresh prowess, if you want to apply slow early on, you would have to sacrifice some damage, etc. Plus the armor break vs skill champs seems to be kinda niche besides Killmonger

I also got him lmao. I’ve always found him fun but yeah he’s pretty pointless unless you haven’t done Necro or something. I definitely prefer him to pre-buff sable, patriot, and even IIM though

I hope he gets buffed but Kabam kinda sucks with buffing champs that need it this year so we’ll see

Pre buff Sable? Is she getting a buff?

I think people overstate his ramp up time. You’re doing pretty meaningful damage after the first sp2. The numbers below come from my r2 Northstar, no special mastery setup, 4* Gambit relic.

After one sp2, ROL WS is at 64% health, meaning that he’s lost 36%. He has 547,774 health, so that translates to roughly 197,199 damage.

The follow up single combo and sp1 brings him down to 40%, which means the total damage done is 328,664 damage. I don’t know the average battlegrounds healthpool size off the top of my head, but I believe this is sufficient to clear a good number of matches, and it takes less than three bars of power (because activating speed boost with the sp2 means the sp2 doesn’t cost the full two bars).

Another tip that I forgot earlier: unless you need to apply his armor break against skill champions, do light ending combos. They help his ramp up more than medium enders do.

Average is probably around 300k to 400k, lowest is around 200k. But I'd still like it if they allowed him to apply armor breaks to everyone except techs. Plus it could scale with prowess and reverb

The armour break is specifically designed for killmonger, that's the point
