WAR Leaderboard screwed?

Hi!

Following the announcement of the last war not counting I’m seeing a lot of masters/P1 alliances in P3…. Does this mean we could match them? And how will this impact the rest of the season?

Seems some teams just did 0 fights on the map. We still cleared the map with no items so didn’t lose our spot

You'll face opponents based on war rating first. A lot of those alliances probably just did nothing so they could drop war rating for easier matches moving forward, but they can only tank it so much. If you're normally a P3 alliance, then you're pretty unlikely to be paired against alliances that are normally P1 or masters because their war rating is considerably higher.

It’s gonna be funny when Kabam says after season it’s to hard to claw back points and these coward alliances are screwed for trying to manipulate the system lol

That would be an issue on a whole new and different level. They've clawed back points before in a similar fashion. It's also what happens when they dock points for alliances that cheat or have players in them that cheat.

I’m so confused what is going on and how this error affected ranks. My alliance dropped over 300 places and out of our current rank for just losing this one war. We were consistently a middle gold 4 alliance and we are now rank 350 in gold 5.

matchmaking is determined by war rating so you'll be fine. the master teams are in plat 3 because they didn't do any fights.

Thanks for the replies guys, didn’t think of the war rating aspect was only focussed on the season points and placement. Thanks again

Yes you can match us now. It was strategic to lose last war because you get easier allies and no reason to win a war to face harder allies all season. Take the L so you can catch 9 more Ws 😈

It doesnt work like that lol. Yes wr is a factor but it first factors wins and loses. Since this counts as a loss till season is adjusted. You match other allies who lost thus giving easier mus

Well leaderboard seems to have major issue, WE are now facing dsvg with 3793 War rating while WE have 3414.
How on earth this IS normal matchup ???

DSVG, XK9, SSX, 4Loki about to eat good this war, lol

Yep. BeeWee explained it perfectly. War matchmaking does NOT look at war rating first. Masters level alliances gonna beat up on people for a few wars in a row here.

Lol fair. We matched another P3 alliance, did you guys match a lower rated ally or still a higher one?

I know atleast 2 of the alliances who have done this have matched P2 alliances which just shows an abuse of matchmaking.
Poor top alliances feel the need to beat up lower level alliances and get satisfaction.

O boy , considering that we won last war( supposedly cancelled war). Seems like gonna have some bumps coming in if the this matchmaking abuse is for real.
So far 3-1 for war(3 wins to 1) 1 that won't be counted. So considering that, gotta say either will be screwed in next couple of war or will b fine.

Sad that high level alliances need to stoop low to beating lower alliances during seasons rather than being competitive.

It’s the same players jumping from Masters alliance trying to get to GT anyway. They all rotate in to get war champ.

That war was cancelled and is not your business what master allys do with it. Only problem u could have is to kabam for the way they solve their own problem . Whos making Any changes when war is up? Kabam. How hard its to wait for that day when war is off?

Ok so why is forfeiting to get easier matchups a bannable offense but losing on purpose in war to get easier matchups is ok. Just sick of there being double standards for trying to gain an advantage in the game.

Same saying we used in the military regarding officer and enlisted F/Us applies here: different spanks for different ranks.

It is my business when that gives them easier matchups in a competition when they already have a skill advantage.
It is my business when this means they can potentially match my alliance and hand us a loss which will affect our final standings because we still get T2 Multiplier.
It is also my business when alliances are abusing matchmaking for rewards and getting away with it.

While I can sympathize with having WR +/- from a War which will NOT count (but won’t be adjusted until later on).
And Kabam really should implement a routine to be able to actually cancel (as in STOP) a War that is already in progress (and/or better be able to control WR +/- if need be for certain Wars, etc)

But it seems like everyone is saying that either..

    (A) if they happened to WIN that war, and move up in WR, that the Next War will have a very high chance at LOSING, because they will be matched against a team higher than what they should be matching against.

or (B) if they had LOST, then they'll get an unfair advantage because the drop in WR will mean they have a very high chance at WINNING the Next War instead.

But with logic, aren’t you implying that every single normal War during the season is a constant TOGGLING of a Win, then a Loss, then a Win, then a Loss, back and forth, in a very tight narrow range of WR ?

Because winning 2 in a row, or losing 2 in a row, would be throwing your WR totally out of whack with the opponents you should only be matching with ?

All I know is we were at the tail-end of the T1/T2 split of P2 last season. We lost this "cancelled" war, and our alliance shot into P1. We barely lost this last war as well, but now we are #1 in P2.

Let us call it what it is.
Masters alliances, including CCP alliances like DSVG/SSX/4LOki, among others like XK9, GT40, are abusing the system to get easier wins for masters. Unintended or not, this is abuse.

A perfect summary of the situation.
The only difference between this and many of their abuses across history is that this is directly an issue on the Kabam side and not them finding ways to work around the system. Can't decide if that makes it worse or not though.

What are those alliances supposed to do? Waste items on a war that doesn’t count? Would be irresponsible and dumb to waste items just to deliberately sabotage your alliance.

A fair point, but no one said they have to used items. They still could've at least played, but they chose not to and tanked their scores for easier matchups.

probably do what LVt did? They took it seriously and didnt tank. It seems to was known in higher circles that Leaderboard plays a part in matchmaking. Are you asking for an excuse not to abuse the system?
also, you can 40% and clear like mostly everyone did.
