Few Raid champs are having war defense status... but they're not in war defense at all

I am unable to pick a few champions for RAIDs simply because their status says "In An Alliance War - Placement Phase". I have already changed my war defense champions a long time ago..so how r these champions still stuck in that status?

    Similar by @AndyBaron7 (quotes below). This post above though has more descriptive Title to benefit others looking. Just in case there is indeed something wrong here.

    Looked at my own, and it does lockout any AW Defenders from being used in AQ/Raids.
    But AW Attackers and normal EQ quest champs are OK to use in Raids.

    For those here, are you sure you also removed those defenders from the alternate +/- Potential War Tier Maps ? (or just from the Tier Map your Ally is currently playing on) ?

    Nick fury was in war as well in attack but I could use him and I did

    I had 14 champs on war defence it’s like the season locks them till the end but they were not in war defence or attack
