Lost an alliance mate of 8 years due to pop-up offer

I know most won't care about this or sympathize, but this really pisses me off.

This morning an alliance mate who I've known for around 8 years quit the game. He noticed this morning about 10k units gone from his account. Thought his account was hacked so he contacted support. Turns out he accidentally bought the gamora 7 star offer for 9500 units without realizing it a couple days ago. Yesterday he opened the 10 paragon crystals not realizing they were from the accidental purchase. Kabam told him their policy is they can't reverse it. Why did he open the paragons? Because he assumed they were from regular day to day gameplay rewards. Like I said, he didn't even realize he had bought the offer.

He already had a sig 60 7* gamora. It's not he he intentionally spent 9500 for her to get her 20 sigs higher. And obviously he didnt intend to buy 10 paragon crystals for 9500. I understand kabam has their policy, but the policy absolutely sucks. It's clear this was a mistake, and my mate didn't realize the crystals were from the offer. Soon as he noticed, he tried to get it reversed but it was too late. The policy should take into account edge cases where clearly the person made a mistake. Claw back those 10 paragons. Claw back the useless 5 star champs he got from them. Whatever. But the fact that this policy doesn't let kabam even try to help in this situation is really messed up.

He grinded for a year to get these 9500 units. He was saving them up for the banquet like he does every year. It's super demoralizing for your year of work to go down the drain because of an accidental purchase. At the very least, there should be a confirmation popup for large purchases. Anything over 2k units should require a confirmation. I myself have mistakenly purchased those 9500 champ offers in the past and realized it like hours later and got it reversed. It just sucks and I'm sad I lost an alliance mate today.

I believe they don't have the tech to reverse crystal openings.

At the very least they could remove those 20 sigs from gamora, and refund his purchase or refund like 90%. We all know the many times over the years players abused bugs to get large amounts of free rewards that were never taken back. Hell, they could take those entire champs he opened from the paragons, the 5 and 6 stars and he probably wouldn't even care as long he he got his 9500 units back.
To revert they need everything still their once u use any of the stuff from bundle u can no longer be refunded

I know, just saying it's a bad policy.
But its not its because the tech and the process its easier doing a refund with all in the account than it being opened since people could abuse it to keep it balanced u only get refunds if nothing gets used or opened

Because he didn't login for a couple days. And if you think he spent 9500 units for a sig 60 gamora to open 10 paragons then I don't know what to tell you. 10 paragons cost 2k. Makes no sense what you're saying pal

But u need all u cant just open and hope for a return the bundle u buy to be refunded u need what was from that bundle and if u bought new paragons to get them back u would only be refunded for them paragons theres nothing else about this but check next time before opening or using anything

Yes it suck. But there no game play that’s had offer a pargon nexus so honestly. Can’t se why it didn’t bring a bell if there ben one it hasn’t ben 10. But leave because of a Owen mistake is obvious how he finds the best but honestly the policy for a reason so people just ask for refund a new 7 star cystal because there didn’t had the one. It unfortunately he didn’t notice in time

Accidentally purchasing a 9500 unit gamora without realizing is lack of experience

Its really not, if he had pulled 5 7*s from those Paragon crystals, I doubt he would be very upset...
Like I said he only found out the paragons were from the offer after contacting support. He thought they were from day to day gameplay. He contacted support because he noticed 10k units missing. Even if he got a bunch of 7 stars, he still would've contacted support about his missing units.

I agree it's partially his fault for not noticing. But it's also messed up there's no confirmation for a 9500 unit purchase. Both can be true. And they were regular paragons. Not nexus. So that is why he didn't notice. We get paragons sometimes for free

But there only day to day if in the shard side the offer ones go i to normal crystals so right there u should already be suspicious also if u saw units missing u would go straight to support asking about it not going straight to crystals and opening them, also theres nothing more to do now since opened he will just have to just grind very hard if he quit then not sure what else to say since should have more awareness when comes to issues, its like people being banned for exploiting and people say they didnt know u should always have awareness with everything

They definitely have the ability to reverse crystal openings. There was a huge bug like a year ago where people got like 1000 exalted crystals or something like that. The team removed champs and shards from those accounts so it’s possible.

From that i dont think everything was removed also they were only removed due to unfair gameplay buying a bundle and opening u wouldnt get refunded since their isnt anything wrong with it

Neither does your math. Your original comment states he noticed he was missing "about" 10k units. 9500+2000 is 11500. That's not "about" 10k.

How did they login, get the offer, watch the animations happening from the purchase, go on about their day and come back, buy 10 Paragon crystals and then notice.. that's a lot of buying and not noticing.

I think hes saying about buying 10 so he can get the 9.5k units refunded

Feel his pain because I did it too, except the big screen that flashes and tells me I purchased something let me know I screwed up instantly, contacted support and it was fixed.

But, im a prolific hoarder so I don't rush to open anything which is what saved me.

It sucks but we are also lucky a mechanism exists that can fix it, whether or not the strict rule of not opening anything is fair or not is another matter.

As in your thread I commented about my situation too. Juggling two accounts and this happened on my alt. I faced some email issue on that instant when I tried to submit a ticket and it said ticket didn't submit. So it took me 2 days to figure it out and then submitted the ticket.

And I'm opposite of you, I don't hoard any crystals which are not super important.
And was surprised by those 10 paragons while doing my casual cleanup. At that instance, I didn't even had a clue what offer have I actually bought. I didn't open them, because I knew what crystals I had, alt accounts usually have massive iso issue.

Was pretty close to tap open those 10 paragons without having a clue how I got those. I actually just speed pop a lot of crystals every 2-3 days. But I paused for a bit and it came to me.
