Labyrinth of Legends: Still Worth it?

GooganGoogan Member Posts: 419 ★★
I've been contemplating whether it's still worth tackling Labyrinth of Legends? While I’ve already 100% explored Road to the Labyrinth and Realm of Legends, I haven’t ventured into Abyss of Legends, Necropolis, or The Crucible just yet... I don’t think I’m ready for those grinds.

I’m planning to bring a synergy team with my 6* awakened Ægon as the MVP, backed by Quake, Proxima Midnight, Nick Fury, and Heimdall. But before I commit to the grind, I’d love to hear your opinions!

If you have 6* Aegon you're ready for Necro

I would only do it when i have done all other content and nothing else to do. When you have a bunch of expiring revives you can throw in the three Carina challenges as well, but they are probably the most painful challenges in the whole game.

So in short do every other content first

The team you'd bring into Labyrinth is basically the team I used in Necropolis, so there's nothing stopping you (at least champion-wise) from doing that instead of Labyrinth. The Labyrinth's rewards have been outdated for maybe half a decade by now. I think it launched in 2017.

What I think Labyrinth actually is good for is as a training ground for Aegon. He takes a bit of getting used to and you need to be able to keep a combo going unbroken for a very long time in order to build him up properly. That's a skill that needs to be learned (if you haven't learned it already). Labyrinth is a great place to practice with him - if you need to.

Additionally, Necropolis is a thousand times more fun than Labyrinth. I've fully explored Necro but only done a single clear of Labyrinth, and it's just night and day. I had so much fun with Necropolis while Labyrinth was just a bore.

All of this being said, there's no need to rush into Necropolis either. It is currently the hardest piece of content in the game. The Crucible is a cakewalk in comparison (even if it needs a much wider roster than Necropolis, which is its own challenge). But if you've explored Act 7, you've already beaten every single boss the Crucible has to throw at you. If you haven't explored Act 7, I'd start with that before tackling any of these endgame activities. It's a lot more fun than the Labyrinth and will grant you better rewards, and will help you prepare better for eventually doing those endgame quests.

    Yes, it’s still worth it.
I suggest you explore labyrinth if you like collecting rare champions like the classic Ultron. Furthermore it will be a good practice for Necropolis later.

If you do plan on doing LoL , I’d suggest this team
    Aegon
    Heimdallr
    Angela
    Hela
    Loki

This gives you two cheat death synergies and a heal synergy .

Old endgame content is only good for practice these days. Not just lol but variants too,
    Easy soloable fights just longer,
Some special nodes might give you some challange. Rewards are absolutely pointless.
But if I had them... Ill give it a shot when there is content drought in game.
Thats just how I feel about it now, a somewhat easier fun and challenging content to try.

Thanks for all the input, everyone! The majority voted "No, the rewards are outdated" and "Focus on newer content like Necropolis," however I opted to do one run on the easy path for completion, and like @Soumemiakas1926 mentioned, it seemed like great practice for Necropolis.

Using 6* Ægon (sig 135), I maxed out to 999 persistent charges after the 9th fight (Falcon.) The fights weren’t particularly hard, just long! Here are my fight durations:

    • Red Hulk: 5:38
    • Old Man Logan: 4:31
    • Elektra: 2:48
    • Ms. Marvel: 2:56
    • Unstoppable Colossus: 5:20
    • Vision: 2:37
    • Spider-Gwen: 2:00
    • Cyclops: 3:38
    • Falcon: 2:22
    • Gamora: 3:00
    • Magik: 2:03
    • War Machine: 2:16
    • Spider-Man: 3:03
    • Ant-Man: 3:11
    • Deadpool X-Force: 3:39
    • Daredevil: 2:24
    • Venom: 3:17
    • Iron Fist: 2:01
    • Civil Warrior: 2:51
    • Maestro: 7:58

I ended up taking 38 hits in total across the 20 fights. Not happy with that. For now, I think I’ll stick with 100% exploring LoL for the practice with Aegon and to max rank and max sig him before diving into Necropolis.

Thanks again for all the feedback!

You left out the answers to the questions people normally ask, but didn't: what was your team (did u stick with your originally planned team), and how many revives? Good job.

Hi @willrun4adonut. Thanks for asking. I went with exactly the same team as mentioned in the OP. Quake, Proxima Midnight, Nick Fury, and Heimdall. I solo'd all the fights except for Maestro. I used two revives for that fight. I topped up with a few lvl 4 health potions on the way to the boss. Can't remember how many. Is that bad? I feel like I need more practice with Ægon before attempting current end game content.

Nope, that's really good. I have done everything in game 100% (granted, with a lower Aegon and team), but I still don't think I could get Maestro down in two revives (just can't get the frx on special down). So I say you have good enough skills to give the harder Everest content a try. Much better rewards. Don't be afraid of it. Good job.

Thanks! That's really motivational. Nothing wrong with giving it a try to see how it goes, I guess. What would you suggest I tackle first?

I'm someone who likes to complete things. The only thing I have not completed is Variants in classic difficulty. Every single other quest has the green banner saying 100%. So I would do it if I were you. It's not for the rewards. It's for the experience and fun fights.

    And endurance test

What rank is your Aegon, and is he ascended? I'd personally say necro, but others might disagree. U get that nice r3 at the end, as well as some other stuff. My write up is around here somewhere, and while not even close to being the best, it took me ~120 revives on my first run. And of those, I think 21 were just on Nova because I couldn't decide his specials reliably. But that was down before guides went out, and a r4 unascended Aegon, and just powering through it (as I had never really used Aegon much before). My last run was with an ascended r5 Aegon and it was down to ~65 revives on the hard lane.

My 6* Ægon is currently Rank 4 sig 135, but not ascended. Plan is to rank 5 and ascend Ægon after I've taken my duped 7* Hyperion to Rank 2. Thanks... makes sense to do Necro, get the R3, and get closer to Valiant.

Necropolis completion or Act 8.3 "Illumination" completion

eh. For fun, yeah maybe you should. With 6 star aegon it is like less than an hour of punching beefy bags.

Did it. Don't think I'll be doing exploration any time soon. Rather use my resources for 8.1, 8.2, 8.3 and Necro.
