I never even received a unit from purchasing it…. So why am I being punished. I sent a support ticket but KABAM has yet to respond. This has ruined the upcoming event for me I had about 1000 units saved and was planning on buying bundles here and there, but now I can’t even participate

You refunded through your app store- don't do this because app stores can't remove items purchased. So now you still have what you bought because it wasn't removed.
Kabam put contest credits on your account because you refunded incorrectly. Pay the $30 to restore your account to normal.
Then you’ll be “even” with Kabam, and you can start using and earning Units again.
That original purchase will still be active (although, yes, if that is the 10,000 Unit's over Levels 61-70 offer, it will take up to 2 years to reach all of those levels)
You bought the unit bundle. That bundle clearly states what it does. You seem confused about what it does because you didn’t read its description, like at all. You just thought 10,000 units would magically appear in your account after spending $30, and when that didn’t happen you decided to get your money back. But you didn’t ask Kabam to refund your purchase, you asked the app stores to do it. But the app stores didn’t sell you anything. They were just the middleman. So when you asked for a refund, they just gave you your money back and took the money back from Kabam. Period. No appeal, no questions asked. Kabam has no way to judge if the refund is warranted or not.
People abuse this all the time. People say if you don’t like the results of your crystals, or you change your mind about what the bundle contains, or if you just don’t like what the company did last week, you can just ask for all your money back from the app stores, because they always give you your money back and there’s nothing Kabam can do about it.
So Kabam eventually decided to do something about it. If you ask the app stores for refunds instead of going through Kabam itself, when the app stores take money out of their pockets, they take it out of your account in the form of contest credits. Until you clear that credit, you aren’t allowed to buy anything with cash or units. Because you took money out of their pockets without even talking to them.
Now, perhaps you didn’t know any of these things. Well, now you know. That’s life. A whole bunch of people decided to poison the well. Kabam is not going to cut you the slack they decided to burn. If you want to blame someone, blame the people who abused the system. Blame the people who continue to advocate abusing the system even now.
Might I recommend understanding what you're purchasing prior to making that purchase & possibly a piece of gum?
This is why people don’t think you read or understood what you were purchasing.
Over 3 Odins worth of units at that,..so obviously there’s gotta be a catch.
Catch is a hell of a lot of grinding and well over a year to see your return,..that’s why when i read the details i didn’t buy the deal.
…going into negative units just made that deal worse for you 😔
(b) I wonder if the Negative Credits cost is based on more that just the actual money amount purchased/refunded ? Wonder if they base it on the UNITS that are included, at the Normal cost basis for such amount of units. (instead of accounting for that there may be a Discount or Bonus in the original offer).
(c) I wouldn’t be too harsh with people who may not have understood just HOW LONG it might be before you would eventually be able to get these Units.
For Monthly Subscriptions and such, you'd get them over the coarse of a month.
And even if you see “as you progress to new Levels”, well for below 60 that comes fairly quickly.
To be fair, the last half of this (65 to 70) isn’t even anything that is in the game at present.
If the offer had specifically said the “Earliest that you could possibly reach (each stated level) is …”, that would have made things much more clear, when deciding to purchase or not.
We call this "Lesson Learned".
