The banquet realm event milestones will likely be out of reach for most.

I understand that you all at Kabam need to make money, as you’re a business that manages a free to play game. I totally get that.
What I’m not quite sure I can wrap my head around, is the amount I’d have to spend- in order to actually get the good realm event rewards.
I’m gonna remain hopeful that my superior banquet crystals will be pretty decent, but I’m not sure how I feel about banquet this year.
Only time will tell I suppose.

    Are you buying units?

The realm event is in addition to everything else. It is available to everyone, but that does not mean that the rewards are meant to be attainable by everyone. Isophyne is only 3k units beyond the max solo milestones. Even if you don't reach her, that's a bunch of extra rewards that haven't been available in other years of this event.

While I do spend on the game, I won't actually have to spend a dime to get those milestones. I believe the top realm milestone can be unlocked with something on the order of 15k units. If all you do is buy units, well that's a lot of money for most people (~$500). But if you are a completely F2P player and just make it a point to try to grind units throughout the year and save them, 15k units is not a difficult amount of units to earn in the game.

Yes it takes time, but it doesn't take an enormous amount of time, and events like this are the reward for players who do that.

So yes, this is a spending event and yes they expect a lot of spenders to whale out. But a lot of completely F2P players can get in on the majority of the rewards. They are not going to end up on the top of the leaderboard, but they will be able to get most or all of the unranked rewards. This is not a hostile event for F2P players.

I'm gonna be blunt here. If all you see is the unit cost and the cash required to buy those units outright, you might think this is a very expensive game that tuned to primarily target people spending huge amounts of money. But in fact, anyone playing this game as their primary hobby, spending a couple hours a day or so, can earn over two thousand dollars worth of units every year. Now, I'm not saying everyone can or will do that. But the fact that it is possible, for a level of effort less than most people spend watching television every day, makes this a very friendly game to non-spenders.

If you don't spend and you don't grind, not even on a level of an hour or two a day, then of course you will get less than the players who do. But how do you make a game where players get almost everything playing an hour a week? An hour or two a day is an entirely reasonable level of effort to consider for the players who actually want to do things like max out all the milestones in a spending event. Wouldn't you agree?
Wait can you explain how can we earn 2 thousand dollars of unit worth per year? By spending 1-2 hours play per day?

Assuming casual players with AQ, AW and around 2-3 BG per day is already take around 1-1.5 hours. And I still not including the time for EQ, Side quest and Incursion as well. And sometimes Event Story and End game content like Necropolis! I assume at least a casual players spend average around 2 hours already per day and it’s a lot of time for a mobile game! Too many contents currently! And I don’t think you can ear more than 1000 units per year without touching the boring Arena

Ok “causal players” here I mean a FTP dedicate to complete most of the available content, just not spend or grind arena. From my estimation, it takes average 2 hours per day to fulfill it.
What is your point? Do you mean spending 2 hours to play a mobile game still not good dedication enough??? Can you share many hours do you spend to play this game per day?

2 hrs a day is not enough to do AQ, War and 1 or 2 paths of eq? And a few are a matches?
It doesnt take 2 hours a day to fulfill arenas...
Yes that is my point. F2P players playing casually should not even expect the same rewards as a Grinder F2P player and not even close to a spender...
I auto a bunch of stuff while eating, I do 25 arena matches a day. 75 matches in 3 days give or take gives me all the milestones of 6* arena.
Do my path in war 10 mins every 6 hours followed by AQ path.. 10 mins every 6 hours...
3-5 Bg Matches every 48 hours.. sometimes more cause I get wrecked.. 2 hours is enough...
I do auto farm a lot but thats while watching tv, in taking food, out taking food...

You need to work on improving the timing, even Arena grinders get it all done in 2 hours. .

You need to be efficient instead of just saying "yup yup I play 2 hours"

I’m an extremely casual FTP player and I’m sitting at a little over 5k units right now and that’s just from the last few months. Maybe you missed a 0 and meant 10k for free in a year wasn’t possible, but that is also easily doable with minimal arena play. I never grind arena.

I do think it’s an odd approach to set the bar so high this time. The earlier Realm events felt like anyone could hit the top tier with some effort but this one won’t be achievable unless you were already set up to get there well in advance or you spend money at this point. I think that’s the difference that feels a bit more exclusionary this time and it’s a downer for the 10 year celebration to be the first Realm event that feels that way.

I didn’t say a “casual players” should receive the same units like grind players. My point here is that spending 2 hours to play a mobile game is a lot, you need to work full time and maybe spend time for your family if you married.

Yeah as your calculation, 10 min each time for AW and 10 min AQ each time login, 3 times per day so roughly 1 hour for both.
AQ, SQ and Incursion and endgame content sometimes so I assume around 2 hours average per day correct?

Oh wait can we auto arena now or am I missing something?

I could, or I could link to an entire article where I detail where all the units are in the game.

Now sure, if you are a "casual player" that is already devoting several hours a day playing every game mode in the game, then of course you aren't going to be able to squeeze any unit earning into the remaining eight seconds of your day. But I'm only talking about the time spent actually earning units. How much time you spend doing anything and everything else is entirely up to you.

Are you trying to say a casual player who plays 1 to 2 hours a day should aspire to the top rewards on an event?...
    Casual playera get casual rewards...
And F2P not doing arena can't really expect much from the game really...
Again, I am not talking about arena yet, I mean to full-fill all of the available contents, it already took nearly 2 hours per day. I believe spending more 2 hours per day to play a game is too much, cuz from what I remember, some of the PC online game I played when I was a teenager, the publisher even limited the online time to 3 hours, after that you will not get any reward if still playing. So if MCOC can remove those contents like AQ, SQ and shorten the AW at least, then I think adding time for area is definitely make more sense.

Back to question when you said auto area when doing other stuff. Are we able to do it now or am I missing anything?

Ok I got your point now, you should made it more clear that the 1.5-2 hours you said is only to play arena. Yeah, I think spending around 2 hours per day to play arena definitely can get all of the milestones in all at least.

But as I mentioned above, the current content already take around 2 hours to do. So spending extra 2 hours which means you will spend around 4 hours per day to play a mobile game! Do you think it’s healthy? I really doubt about it even without reading any scientific research.

Lower EQs up to UC is doable in auto fight...it will complete the Super event as well...
AQ and AW doesn't take that long ... What do you mean by all available content anyway... It doesnt take me 2 hours to do 25 arena matches...
    -AQ 10 mins every 6 hours 4x a week
-AW 10 mins every 6 hours 3 times a week
-25 matches of arena 30-35 mins a day...
-EQ SQ.. 10 mins per path maybe? I'll give you 30 mins...
-Special quests like AoA... Figure out on sunday maybe I'll give it the full 2 hours...
-BGs play a few matches every 48hrs ...

If its taking you 2 hrs a day to do "everything" as you say without even touching arenas... I dunno what to tell you.

    Are you buying units?

The reason I said “most” is because I will still be spending/opening at least around 700 worth of crystals.
For others in my alliance though, they’re now just completely disheartened from even wanting to spend on banquet at all. I get everyone comes from different places, and not everyone can spare that kind of cash- but I’m just not a fan of the meh rewards being almost impossible to not get; and the only relevant ones being gated behind going full whale mode.
I just feel like there should’ve been at least a little bit more of a middle ground, where people that spend casually- could get some decent rewards at least.
As my post said originally though, only time will tell.

The reason why I am asking is that you talk about being a company and wanting to make money...
Most of the players that worry about milestones probably farmed the units..
There is not much difference on unit spending between last year and this year. The content is MUCH better than last year being key difference.
Stop calling it "spending" its mostly using resources. People farm units all year long for this events, the whales spend, most people farm.

So... are you saying that they should make this and all competitive events easy and non-competitive? Realistically, lower rank players should look at things like this to aspire to. Get better at the game, rank up champs, save resources for the next time around. If you're FTP like me, then you gotta realize a certain cap. When I was lower I was jealous of not being able to reach all the goals in stuff like this. Now I'm slightly less jealous.
