Banquet 2024 Retrospective

I wanted to create this thread as a constructive yet respectful place to discuss the Grand Banquet.
After spending around 15k units on SBCs as a mid-level valiant player, and after seeing many responses from friends, alliance mates and people on the forums. I can confidently say this event was a disappointment.
This message is not one to slander the community team and community members should always stay respectful.
However, certain aspects of this event must be addressed.
Key factors being - lack of timely information, the sub-par drop rates, the absurd increase in personal unit spend and finally the overall disappointment of the 10 Year anniversary celebration event.
Please keep this thread respectful and a way to feedback to Kabam in hopes for some light.

I appreciate the premise of this post. I completely agree with you. Gotta keep the tone respectful. I think it’s sad because this is such a simple fix. Fix the drop rates or decrease the amount of points required to achieve the max reward in the realm event. I think the concept of make good event = more people spending is not that out there in terms of event design? I say this just wanting a better outcome for both the players, and Kabam.

@SubDegree completely echo you mate. Similar progression level, so fair I’ve got the mats to R3 one more champ. Opened two 7* crystals. Masses of T6b and T3a in overflow now.

The drop rates were disappointing, especially compared to actual unit spend in cyber.

Im very concerned that we’ve done the 15ish spend and the disappointment will stop others from participating so we won’t get to the milestone rewards that justified a 15-20k spend.

Big shame on this one.

Even if they did fix the drop rates, how would they compensate thousands of players who have already opened crystals with the bad drop rates? And what about those who have already used said resources or opened more crystals? I’m genuinely curious

As valiant closing in 20 r3’s lol this is a disappointment.

I felt like I wasted my 12k units.

Down from
45k down to 33k and nothing to show for it.

All you have to do is watch abunch mcoc YouTubers, go across line chats and everyone is just disappointed

Nomatter how much we say how bad this event is will they actually do something?

I didnt use resources ,just quit the game right after 50sbc’s bc i’m done right now,i cant keep raging or getting obsessed etc ,im tired after 10 years of playing,maybe ill quit and never return

I’m very happy I chose to spend my units on cyber weekend. I’m unmoved by my returns from limited banquet spending.

@JackTheSnack Im not sure much could be done for the past, but i have my doubts about reaching higher milestones in the realm event. Perhaps a similar move to the Jack's Battleground realm event, where they added points in order to reach the final milestones.

I am glad I bought on Cyber Weekend instead of saving units for banquet. Like at this point, what is more valuable, 14 superior banquet crystals or a Titan and a rank 3 gem. That was the calculus I did and I am very happy with my decision. My superior banquet crystals were trash.

This does feel degrading to the say the least. Very bummed at the outcome of this event and truly has me reconsidering how much time I’ll spend on this game in the future. I would not be surprised if a lot of other’s just decide to stop playing mcoc after this. Doubt Kabam even cares to acknowledge the outrage of the player base… that in itself is even more upsetting.

I just want to know what they are even thinking currently.

The only critique I'll add is that maybe there should have been a way for ftp or just everyone to get 6 of the keys without spending on Odins. That way we all can enjoy a new 7 star medusa

I can get 20% t6cc in the rank-up store for 260 units, but in these crystals for 300 units I can get as little as 10%. The gold and iso isn't making up that gap. There is too high a chance to open a crystal that is far under the value of the units spent and that is a problem, especially when it ends up being the majority of the crystals. The other event rewards are solid, and the whole package is good, but opening depressing crystals to get there makes it a far less enjoyable event and a far cry from what it was hyped to be.

The materials may all be used to rank 7*, but the main issue is that many valiants (like me) have T3A and T6B overflowing already. And they can’t even be sold - for gold or shards. So we just watch them expire one after another. I have a bunch sitting in rewards now waiting to be claimed but already am overflowing. At the very least, it’s time to make these sellable so they are at least worth something. Right now they are no more useful to me than the XP boosts were before the cap was raised.

Agree with this sentiment. And unless I’m missing something, the Odins with the keys aren’t even available with the launch of the event.

I didn’t spend a dime this event and I’m stuck “enjoying” my 7* Sentry. This was a travesty all around. I wasn’t able to r3 any champ and was only able to r2 two champs.

Well the problem still is we did not get what was promised. If noone was hyping this years crystals or if this year wasnt the 10th anniversary then the current rewards would have been good and the hate for it would be so much less.

But this is not case. We were promised a fantastic Anniversary Banquet ofc I didnt expect everyone to get a r4 but the lack of r2 gems and only catalysts which also includes T5cc is the problem. I would expect T6cc to be there but I dont want T5cc and I also want T6 basic and T3 alpha but getting only 10% T6cc from crystal is really a letdown. I think that is where all the rage is coming from. Also I dont exactly know if it was 10% T6cc. But including t5cc in milestones and crystals was a bad move.

I think they'll be on Christmas. Just a mess and I've seen people already mistakenly buy them thinking the keys were there

Just wanna say Crashed has been incredibly open and honest with the community, above and beyond what is required by his position. He's been very generous with his time especially here on the forums, lets please not impugn his character. Confirms my thoughts - top progression players should just forget the banquet being a meaningful event anymore. Spend your units elsewhere. This event is destined to be lackluster forever…. Ignore all Kabam hype leading up to it.
