Seeing as how they've Stark Foundation-proofed the Realm Event, it will be very interesting to see how they dig out of this quagmire of hurt feelings. Hey, if they give away 11 free 7 stars...
I just feel like they always overshoot on these realm events
I feel like they keep taking from other reward pools for the event to make the realm event look good when it hurts the overall feeling about the Event in totality. Please stop putting the spicy things in the realm event… it should be in the alliance or solo events for a reason.
I really feel like the balance here is still wrong
We deliberately include as much of the reward package as we can in the events themselves. This year, everything in the SBC can be used on 7-star champions, so there shouldn't be anything in there that is completely useless to players.
Spending 300 units to get a single signature stone or 10% of a catalyst is an astonishingly bad value for what represents a significant amount of time or money invested by players. People spending $100 and getting 1500 7-star shards is shocking, and you had to recognize that was the case. Advertising way less filler then delivering an overwhelming amount of filler has burned people.
Who cares if the whales get sig 60 or sig 200 on their newly released champs, they always have and always will be in a different universe from most of the players.
Who cares if the whales get sig 60 or sig 200 on their newly released champs, they always have and always will be in a different universe from most of the players.
Interesting point here… the whales are playing a different game than normal players are anyway. So the fix is to ruin the event for average players so whales are slightly less blubbery?
Yeah players should have been able to come out if this event with 4-5 titans crystals and 10-20 7 star crystals for the money they ask us to spend. The gap **** is way overblown whales already have a wide gap so start giving players what they want. Your AI reward predictor bot is trash and whoever designed it should probably leave the company.
If you build the main prizes into the milestones, you spread the value around more evenly and you keep whales from getting a huge windfall.
If the crystals are absolutely lit, megawhales will get more separation from the population as a whole.
We deliberately include as much of the reward package as we can in the events themselves. This year, everything in the SBC can be used on 7-star champions, so there shouldn't be anything in there that is completely useless to players. But the crystals are never going to be the main focus of the rewards, because if they were as TyEdge correctly summarized, it would mean creating an enormous gap between the big spenders and everyone else.
I will pop back into this thread after the event is over to share more comprehensive thoughts like I did last year. But in the meantime, I encourage Summoners to take a breath and look at the total reward package that was available as part of this event. I personally think there is more here for ~15K Units than there was during Cyber Week, and I'm having a blast with my new 7-Star Medusa.
Enjoy the holiday break everyone.
No disrespect intended, but that’s your opinion. The game isn’t ment for just you, it’s ment for the community. You’re basically telling us to get off your game if you don’t like it.

I take Crashed’s comment to mean your units buy you the milestones. Look at it that way and treat anything from the crystals as a bonus.
The problem is that’s no fun and turns this into another sale where you spend units for some fixed packages and then get some extra random crystals as a bonus. The extra crystals have an RNG chance to sweeten the deal but the odds are so low you might as well write them off when you’re considering how much to spend.
That view also turns the Realm event into a unit spending event and not a banquet crystal event.
I’d rather see the focus on the crystals and get most of my stuff there. It makes it more fun and exciting than exchanging units for milestone rewards.
Whales are always having an advantage over others. But they are a minority of players.. If you care so much about fairness.. Remove the realm rank awards r3 to r4 gems etc.. You are encouraging people to whale out and fight for the rank rewards.. You always have a spending event in the store with ultra level rewards for whale only.. Why are you caring about fairness now.. People will anyway get better rewards from the milestones regardless of their progression level by opening more crystals... That is the whole point of the banquet event.. The more you open the better rewards you get...
From some units I farmed, and a $100 gift card I got from a friend, I was able to R3 my Shathra, Isophene, Deathless She-hulk, pull and R3 Enchantress, and still have some cats to spare. I also got about 50 or more sigs scattered across the event. Pulled Black Panther and Purgatory. With at least 1 more guaranteed on the way. Pulled a couple 7's. And completed all the milestones for a real unit cost of around 7K or so all said and done.
And the event ISN'T EVEN DONE! Assuming that the milestones are reached. I get a dupe on Isophene combined with lots of other goodies! I really don't get the complaint. I pulled lots of T6CC and rank up mats just like everyone else. And I have loads of champs to STILL rank up! As a top end Valiant player I am beyond happy with what I got. Now I'll let the whales get their R4's by spending way more than I ever would. And elevate my goodies in the realm event.

After spending 11k units ( 48 sbc) ,I can't r3 any champion cuz I got only 1 t4 alpha(through fragments) . Only got 13 k 7star hero fragments... Still have to wait for valiant..

Yes but where is the intrigue to spend actual money on these crystals? These are not making me want to purchase any additional crystals. These are by comparison super daily events, just a bit more. For the bulk of whales and casual spenders, this is a net loss. And some of your youtube Kabam employees do hit at a higher rate by getting a full titan when everyone else gets shafted.

Wish i can say the same with my sentry after 18k units down to drain
FUUUUUUUCK being respectful tbh, we do this same dance every year with Kabam. It is just easier to notice and understand that hey maybe this money grabbing cash pigs don’t care about us or the community because it is such a massive joke of a 10 YEAR CELEBRATION EVENT. They haven’t been able to properly & fairly value their content since the inception of the game nor have they ever once properly & fairly made appropriate RNG based crystals. This event is likely to drive many from the game or at least make them to free to play & save their units for content rather than event deals because you basically just throw your units away.

Crashed, all due respect to you, you are very active in community relations, but there is a disconnect to your majority player base here. I spent 7k units and received no more than 2 of any specific T6CC, that’s not enough for a rank up. I received 5 or so tier 6 basic, about 6k seven star shards, and roughly 3/4 of one tier 4 alpha catalyst, that’s 25% of what is needed for a rank 3. That’s cool you’re enjoying your new Medusa, my key lead me to a Sentry I pulled 4 hours ago and he’s still ramping up. Even with the milestones, I only opened a couple new crystals after purchasing shards in the BG store, pulls were not fantastic. My total reward package was the ability to take 3 current seven stars (again, my RnG pulls were not good ones) on my roster to rank 2. Not exactly how I was looking to use 7k + units. My experience sadly resonates with a lot of the community. Now hearing the crystals weren’t beefed up because of the fear of the whales (who are going to whale and be a light year ahead no matter what) is a real kick in the nuts to the majority. Watch the YouTubers, they share the same sediment as the players who feel downtrodden and shortchanged by this very hyped event. This was the culminating event of the year, and judging by the majority of posts, it’s leaving many not motivated moving into 2025.
the rewards from sgbc plus milestones is not even half compare to cyber monday… i got 3 r2-3 7* gems for 20k units .. this banquet, with same amount of units .. i got slightly over 4 t4a .. little over 1 r2-3 7*. the amount of 7* are about the same but cyber monday.. i got a selector 7* which was way better..
this banquet event is a total disappointment and let down… rank up rewards is not even half of cyberspace monday.. and kabam said in live stream it would be awesome and the best event.. such a big lie.

Dude, at the last live you guys literally said that the drop rates are better, specifically for the new crystal. You literally acknowledged about the last banquet only to create a worse version.
So what's this bs response? Most the responses I see are like "ohhh but we focused on the events. The milestones are giving out better rewards". This is a big fat lie and misleading as hell compared to what you guys promoted and hyped.
You hyped everyone and we got scammed.

Didn't you literally say that the crystals wouldn't be as filler this time?
lmao right wasnt that the main change after "listening to the feedback"? they're not even close to the main focus they're just an unnecessary evil u have to open to transfer units into event points

if the crystals arent the main focus then why were they hyped so much in the livestream? we were told that the filler dropped by 30%+ (it did not) and that feedback was taken and the crystal is new and improved, and its called superior now and its gonna be great. There was a ton of emphasis on the crystal I dont get how its our fault that we had high expectations its incredibly underwhelming its like we're trading units for points, the crystals are half the fun of the event

I’m very happy I chose to spend my units on cyber weekend. I’m unmoved by my returns from limited banquet spending.
I understand this, but I also disagree. Whales already have basically every 7* and loads of r3s, adding much more of that stuff into the crystals would actually benefit the average player as it would help them catch up to the whales. As a very end game valiant player I opened 75+ of these crystals and in total (not counting the events) got enough 7* shards for 3 crystals. The rest was basically art garbage to me. That’s absolutely horrible value, now if I were able to get 15-20 7* crystals from this it would be much more worth it. And sure whales would be getting hundreds of them, but that really won’t throw off much of the balance, because they already have basically every 7* duped and probably at high sig too. Sure it will allow them for titans from the dupes, but they are whaling, let them get their titans if they wanna get it by duping 7*s.
This just seems like a massive miss, and I haven’t come across anyone yet who is genuinely happy about this event. I don’t think I’ll participate in the banquet event next year, especially considering this was supposed to be the “grand” banquet, and what I got from it feels like what I could have gotten from a month of aq/raid/BGs. Not worth the amount of units AT ALL.

Idk, If the goal was a bigger shift towards milestones being the source of rewards, maybe that should have been the tone on stream rather than fuelling the hype by saying the crystal was going to end up being like 50% "high quality chase rewards" and the kind of thing people who were unhappy last year would be impressed by.
As an aside, I think this is an awful format for realm events. It's the worst of both worlds where there's not really much community spirit seeing as how the point requirements are designed to be the limiting factor rather than the community progress as a whole, but it's also pretty obvious that the event is priced around reaching the Isophyne objective. I'd ask you this: if that Isophyne objective *wasn't* reached, would the game team shrug their shoulders and tell everyone who spent 15k units that the community should have tried a little harder? Because if not and it's a sure thing regardless (as it would seem seeing as how you seem pretty sure that 15k is the optimal amount of units to put in), what is the point of the realm event?

Because if not and it's a sure thing regardless (as it would seem seeing as how you seem pretty sure that 15k is the optimal amount of units to put in), what is the point of the realm event?
