There’s a few things going on with the Kabam team here. First off, we were told in the streams that the crystals would have less filler, and the milestones were the cherry on top. Now in this post they started by saying they wanted to move more of the rewards to the milestones. So which one is it? Then they improve 3 milestone rewards for achievements that haven’t been gained. Both these instances seem like of a tone deaf panic because the spend is plateauing.
Karate Mike has said that the crystals aren’t great.
Dork has commented saying that the banquet is only part of the 10 year anniversary, and mentions the 10 free champs. While the 10 free champs are appreciated, are any of them game changing for paragon/valiant players? He also said to keep an eye out for the annual gift. That’s a no win comment. If that gift isn’t good, he’ll be slaughtered. If the gift is amazing, that was the point in spending in this poor event?
I’ve spent about 25k units I’ve saved by mostly grinding. If I were to buy the odin vaults to get that, then in my currency it’s about £800. The rewards I’ve got from buying 83 SBC’s and spending the 29 tokens I had, plus whatever ones I got from the mile stones, have been measly. I get that it’s a lottery and nothing is guaranteed, but surely from, say 120 crystals, something of note should have dropped? The fact that the vast majority of players have the same complaint should tell the Kabam team that they’ve missed the mark massively with this event, and they should try make amends before it’s too late.
The Realm Event contains 37 milestones, which are meant to reward the entire community for their collective efforts. However, the way rewards are structured heavily favors high spenders, leaving the majority of contributors with little to nothing in return. Let me break it down:
Personal Experience:
I spent around 6,000 units and managed to reach 16 milestones. This gave me about 15k 7-star shards, a couple of T3A and T6B, and a few other rewards. Meanwhile, players who spent 3,000 units or less couldn’t even earn one full 7-star champion.
The Core Problem:
The Realm Event is a community event, meaning every contributor impacts the overall result. The event is designed with the idea that “we’re all in this together, helping each other achieve the goals.” However, milestones from 17 to 24—which include four 7-star champions—are entirely out of reach for players spending 3k, 5k, or even 6k units. These milestones are only achievable because lower spenders contribute their resources, yet the rewards primarily benefit those who spend 10k+ units.
The Unfairness:
This situation is akin to being in a football team: if the team wins the Champions League, every member of the team gets the trophy, regardless of how many goals they scored individually. But in this event, only the top spenders are rewarded, while the rest of the “team” walks away empty-handed. • Milestone Rewards for Low Spenders Are Terrible: For personal milestones, this is understandable—those who spend more should get better personal rewards. But for Realm and Alliance milestones, it’s unfair. These are collective goals, and every unit spent by every player contributes to the result. Yet the vast majority of players won’t even touch half of the Realm milestones.
Why This Matters:
The main motivation behind a community event like this should be togetherness—everyone contributing for a shared reward. But right now, the event feels like everyone is spending their units to help the top spenders (units or money) reach the best milestones. If all the lower spenders—those with less than 4k–5k units—stopped participating, no one would reach the top milestones.
Proposed Solution: 1. Personal Milestones: Reward high spenders generously, as this is fair and reflects their contributions. 2. Realm/Alliance Milestones: Make these more accessible to the wider community, so that every contributor, regardless of how much they spend, feels valued and motivated to participate.
Final Thought:
If the event is truly about the community, every unit spent should matter, and everyone should feel like their contribution helps achieve a shared goal. Right now, it feels like the majority are being ignored while only the top spenders are rewarded.
After 10 years, one would expect you to respect the community since we are the beating heart of the game. The rewards while improved in many aspects in the game still do not match up to what it needs to be. After spending 17k of units i was able to get 2x 7* crystals(the shards of course) and 1 7*nexus, other than that it has only been catalysts or gold. The rewards from the crystals are garbage and totally not worth buying and in order to get some good rewards from the milestones you are required to open the crystals. So you shouldve had crystals that are well rewarding and the milestones shouldve been more of an appreciation rewards. This was the last time i will be dropping all my units.
Really the drop rates of sbc is so worst and the compensation by 3 7 star in milestone is a bad idea.It must good in mail . Really it's so, disappointing 😞😞

If I’m honest, my initial thought to the realm event was “well I spent more, why shouldn’t I get more?” but actually you’re right and have changed my thinking. It is a collective effort and all should be rewarded the same, even if all they did was lower the personal milestones needed to a more reasonable level. It’s a difficult one to police though, your idea is based on people aiming for a higher personal event milestone, but there may be people who would open 1 SBC to get all the alliance realm event. Maybe have it tiered somehow
I'm not hitting the top milestones. I don't spend currency and I don't have much time to grind for units. These events have always been the same spend little get nothing spend big and be rewarded. Yall need to quit moaning and move on.
24 pages of Kabam’s customers complaining and still no answer from Kabam but « Our intention was to improve the experience over last year's event, and feel we have succeeded in that goal. »

Fantastic post. Even disregarding the terrible value offered by the banquet event, having the community contribute towards rewards - in many cases using whatever money they can afford to spend - that most of them will never get is staggeringly unfair.
So I’ve been playing this game for almost 9 years and I have seen a lot of disappointing events over those years, but honestly this year’s banquet event ranks up there as one of the worst. As a valiant player the return on investment just isn’t there. I get the whole RNG element, but honestly the rewards just suck. I’d love to say well done, but I just can’t. Whoever drew this up deserves a lump of coal in their Christmas stocking. So utterly disappointed.
I always hated the banquet event. The terrible RNG of the crystals, the gamble to spend for the hope you or your alliance ranks high enough, the unit spend. Banquet crystals always had bad rewards for the 300 unit cost, so I don't understand the sudden shock to how bad they are this year. But after I added up all the rewards across the solo, alliance, and realm milestones, what you get for less than 15k units are way better than anything offered before. If the realm event hits milestone 28 (the minimum 20088 points) and you achieve 20088 points, the rewards are incredible: -60,000 7 star shards -3 Glorious Guardians 7 stars -7 star Awakening gem crystal worth of shards -Enough Rank up material for 2 7* Rank 3 -2 7* rank 2 to rank 3 gems -1 Ascension -5000 Titan shards
Plus they even added 2 7 star crystals and a 7 Star Nexus, after all the complaints. These are just from the milestones, so anything I get from the SBCs are just a bonus.
Tell me where else have you seen this much rewards. I came out of the last cyber week spending more units (20k) and got less rewards. I have always spent my money and units during cyber week. But the fact that these rewards are guaranteed for less than 15k units, makes this a great value. I'm in the minority of my opinion of this event, but damn Kabam did a great job. Yes the SGCs could have better odds, but banquet crystals always had bad odds. They even made the Crystal better, by adding Superior Banquet Crystals, with less trash and more high chase rewards. My main problem with past banquet events was the huge RNG and low guaranteed value. Kabam actually listened and improved drastically on the guarantee values. Last year a 300 unit greater banquet crystal would get me 2 tier 5 basics or 4k 6 star shards. Where was all this drop rate hate last year? They removed most of the trash drop items from the crystals.
This is the best banquet/gifting event that Kabam did so far.
Where is the /s? This has to be sarcasm right? No way you're serious that they made the crystals better. Sure they added some good rewards in there. For a combined chance of 2-3%.... Almost no one is getting that. So no, the value is certainly not drastically improved. The crystals are supposed to be the fun thing to open, milestones should be a bonus. This time it is the other way around but there is no bonus to be gained from the crystals because they drop trash 99% of the time.
So now u have put better rewards in next milestones so what about the rest of us that had disappointment and can't reach those milestones. Ignored as usual
They should start new solo event based on progression with compensate rewards and require our solo points to claim them. Win=win situation this is better than sending everyone compensation via mail.
One nice, small adjustment would have been to change the gifted guardian keys to selectors. It's still a small pool of champs, so we'd likely still be getting champs we haven't used recently, but at least we could get the one(s) we're most excited about.

I would like to say to the team your greed is showing more and more I don’t know if it’s that you’ve hired the wrong people for your team your your just trying to destroy a great game but you guys aren’t just giving to customers there value for there money ever Year it gets worse and worse then you add more stuff for us but put it to the top of the list which most people won’t see lol again another bad move yes I thought it was nice giving 10 7 star champs for just logging on but the drop rates were horrible and yes you showed us the drop rates ahead of time but those dro rates were inaccurate and you know it cause this game is designed to make you money I’ve been playing since the beginning and Iam just here to tell you that the greed has to stop at least one month out of the year
I already did my part (32k points), why THE HELL am i dependant on community performance? Why the hell do i have to wait for everyone else to catch on? Why am i punished like this? That's just communistic at this point.
With crystals being SO BAD, i bet my hand Kabam will have to shady add points to the global event so we reach the Isophyne.
I can come at the crystals disappointing drop rates but the milestone are a disgrace. I spent about 8000 units and am limited to about the halfway mark of the milestones. It took months of saving to get those units for poor drop rates and no real chance of the better rewards. If you really wanted more non whales to spend you’d make those rewards reachable without needing to sell your house, car or body to afford it.
The live stream noted there would be less “filler’ in the crystals. I believed you. 70 crystals and almost all filler. I think I got 1 7 star crystal out of it. No new or desired champs. The biggest miss was lack of titans. I really feel mislead and I won’t believe any live stream hype anymore. Such a shame the end of the 10 year anniversary is going to be a lie and money grab. Your loyal players deserve better.
Do you want kabam to listen? Some of you may not have been here, but quite a few of us have been here that long. There are 2 things to speak with. Your wallet and your review in the App Store. The only time kabam has been FORCED to somewhat fix something was way back with 12.0 when the COMMUNITY STOOD TOGETHER. Whales all the way down to ftp and STOPPED SPENDING AND LEFT 1 STAR REVIEWS. That accomplishes 2 goals no money and no new players to get hooked. So if you want a change that is not behind a paywall then be a COMMUNITY and band together and embrace BOYCOTT 2.0. Don’t just let the spending in the realm event plateau. Make it stop. Watch how quick a real solution happens.
Kabam keeps the money spent…I mean that’s a given but had to be said. And refunds all units spent on these SBCs. Or AT LEAST half of them. Would that potentially salvage a little goodwill? It was still a load of hype with weak follow through…hot on the heels of the Tyson/Paul fight, no less. Just trying to think of ways out of this holiday quagmire.

Comparing this to 12.0 is pretty wild and nowhere close to it. The only real problem with this event is the crystals themselves. The milestones have been structured in a way that you need to hit the points to get them for a very long time.
I also don’t have much sympathy for people saying they wouldn’t of bought as many crystals if they knew how bad they were coz the event is 2 weeks long and seriously no need to open hundreds of crystals as soon as they release, that’s on you if you did that.
I have sympathy for the ftp community who play each year and rely on what they get from the crystals and forsake the higher milestones, those are the ones who need something done for them. Maybe when event is finished, some sort of package for players who didn’t get all milestones. I’ve opened enough to receive everything in realm if we hit it so won’t personally get the package but think it’s right thing to do imo

I think this is a great post. The Realm events are not the problem. Last year’s Realm event was awesome. All deaths in Necropolis counted toward the goal for the entire community. I felt there was a lot of spirit in that event. There was a sense that every time you died it helped us all. The kicker was you had to complete a path in Necropolis to qualify for the rewards which for many, especially lower tier accounts, was not possible or very expensive to achieve. So there was a minimum threshold requirement.
I feel like maybe if they had reversed the Solo and Realm events this all would have gone better. They should have loaded up the top rewards in the Solo events.
But now Kabam needs to be careful if they make changes to the minimum required thresholds. Many have already met these marks and spent their units or money to get them. If the lower the minimums to open these rewards to more people, they’ll hear it from those of us who did spend to reach the Isophyne reward. They’d need to offer some compensation honestly. However, the thresholds are likely too high for many people to want to continue to contribute and help the community if their only reward is 1% of a t6c catalyst. 300 units for these SBC’s was way too much for what they are likely to reward. Really poor planning and forward thinking by Kabam on this one.
There really shouldn’t ever be anything in a realm event that requires use of resources/spending that you gain at lower milestones but can’t be used unless you achieve higher milestones.
There are 5 Glorious Guardian sig stone rewards that are useless unless you get the awakening gem crystal at milestone 30. Who knows when the champions will be available to dupe outside this event. The way this whole event has been set up is really awful. Whales were going to whale out regardless, kabam was always going to make its money, so I have no idea why they couldn’t have set this event up to bring a little bit of joy to low spenders and FTP. Instead they’ve pushed lower end spenders to close there wallets. I always buy an Odin over Christmas as usually some decent offers but no chance. I’ll let my now 156 units grow naturally.
this even has been a major letdown. I can't believe we are all angry at Kabam, and this is their fault. If only they woulda tested their own SBC by having several individuals opening different batches of 20, then 40 then 60 crystals and see the results. Of course they didn't do that, and if they did and just decided to ignore the results, then they really don't care about us. This event has been a disgrace to say the least. Dec is about laugh and joy, but Kabam did everything in their power to ruin it for us. I'm still in disbelief they had the audacity to go with this event and those drop rates are just LMAO.... this isn't 2022 or 23 to have over 30% drop rate in T6CC.
I already did my part (32k points), why THE HELL am i dependant on community performance? Why the hell do i have to wait for everyone else to catch on? Why am i punished like this? That's just communistic at this point.

Nah. Well get there without help. We only have a couple more milestones to go and it's only been what not even 48 full hours.

I never compared this to 12.0. I said that the only way to effect real change is a boycott. The last time kabam actually did something was when the community banded together and boycotted after the 12.0 update. If people want change we have to stand together as a community. Compensation being paid for is not compensation. They acknowledge they screwed up so do something right. Don’t put it behind a paywall.
I'm glad for those who were lucky, or had a huge amounts of units they could spend to brute force some good results. I'm glad you got something out of the Banquet.
Not for me though.
I did wonder why the drop rates hadn't been released with the rest of the announcements for the Banquet. Like many I was hopeful based on the comments made on it only being 50% filler. Hopes that were unfounded.
In the end, I've spent 3k units with an end result of a barely minimal impact to my roster or resources. I haven't spent any physical money to support the Banquet - because I don't feel that the Banquet is anywhere near worth putting money into. I'm more of a tuna than a whale, not even a dolphin, but it's the principle that matters.
There's only so much room Kabam has to maneuver, even if they want to. More crystals probably isn't the answer as resource limits are already straining. Changing drop rates - well, that's probably too late too.
Getting the Stark Foundation to boost everyone's Solo Event and Realm contribution points by 2k for Cavaliers and below, up to 5k for Valiant, could be something. It would probably be a background (database?) update.
They may alternatively be relying on the Christmas gift. Unless it's something that is so good it makes collective jaws hit the floor, it may be too little, too late.
